Sanger V-215 Vs. Sanger V-230

So I've been set on the V-215 but the price on a similar V-230 is almost the same. I'm looking at both boats that are 2006 model year. I primarily wakeboard and have never surfed but I'm sure I'll pick that Up. I'm 30 and have 1 new ACL so I'm guess I can only wakeboard for 5 more years or so. I like more room in the 230 but how does the wake compare in your opinion.

You might want to consult with John Anderson on this discussion board about how long you could wakeboard if you really want to.

The basic hull design is the same for the two boats but the V215 will handle better and takes less weight to make a great surf wake. Sanger has not changed their hull design since the 215 first came out and either will suit you well. The v215 is more popular due to the easier to pull and park size and slightly lower lines.

I've never been in the 215, but have a 230. I love the room of a 23' boat even when you're only out with a few people. Throws a great surf wake with just a 750lb. sack in the rear, 500 mid ship, and a few people, but the boarding wake takes more effort. For a good wake it needs 400lb. in each locker, 500 mid ship, and 400 in the bow. It's a very rampy wake that will send you way out in the flats. With that much weight you're also going to need a new prop. I run the Acme 911 and it works great with the weight listed above.

Does anybody know what the Sales Tax would be for a $35000 boat would be in California (Sacramento)?

What ever the tax rate is multiplied by the sales price. As in 8%(.08) x 35000 =$2800 Thats just an example, nit sure what the tax rate is there. Plus you have to add any title and license fee's. Those are usually atleast a $100 but we don't pay tax on used private party sales. Just the trailer.

So your looking at $3062.50 plus what ever the license and title fees are.

Man I'm glad we don't pay tax on used stuff in MN!!!!

Even worse, he lives in California so has to also pay a yearly property tax on the boat as well.
