I taught my nephew how to board at Lake McClure back in May. We spent two weeks in Trinity in August and he improved quite a bit. Then, this last weekend we went out to Don Pedro and things just clicked for him. Just had to share these
He turned 6 the end of August-

Time to shorten the rope up to right behind the rooster tail. Then let it out as he clears. I started doing that about a month ago and here is the post of my 7 year old going w2w

Is there any reason in particular to get him out of the mixed grip habbit? Wouldn't be hard to get him to loose it-only reason he does it is because that's how my sister and I both ride. If its purely style...whatever, but if there is something useful to not going with a mixed grip thats a different story-shoot, maybe I'll have to teach myself to loose it too!

Say NO to the Baseball grip!

It makes it more difficult to do handle pass tricks and it puts your body in a unbalanced position when jumping.

Plus, your not waterskiing!!

Nice work with your nephew, he is ripping

Yeah, ^^^ I agree. Once it's a habit, it will be hard to break later. That grip will make things harder later on down the road. Great job on the little guy. It's awesome to see young kids having a good time and progressing.

I agree about the handle, but damn he is only 6. Im sure with time and experience he will lose it. Give the lil guy a break. The most important thing is the smile on his face
