Who is making it to this event? If you are, post here to let me know. Flag me down and I'll hook you up with one of our new camo drink cozies. I don't know if you college kids drink at all, but I'm sure you can find a use for it!

The mighty WakeWorld VLX will be pulling it, so I should be out there throughout the weekend. I believe Randy Harris will be there on Sunday for autographs and he might even do an exhibition. It's at Crown Point in Mission Bay. Check out http://www.thecollegiatenationals.com/ for all the details.

Ok, it's official. Randy Harris will be out there on Sunday and he will be doing an exhibition around 11:30. They will also have copies of the latest Malibu Review with Randy on the cover for him to autograph.

Randy Harris is going to ride behind my boat!!! I'm excited!!

Has anyone ridden at Crown Point before? What are the conditions like?
Old     (dabell)      Join Date: Apr 2007       04-19-2007, 1:53 PM Reply
I use to live down there in SD. Crown point is salt water and it depends upon who is on the lake at the time and the wind. SDSU has a rowing team that practices there. After that, the lake does have indirect access to the ocean. Not much help but it's something.

Nice! we were trying to get him out to the Spring Ride. Never heard back though. Of course, we had a "middleman" communication channel. Anyone want to give me his number?

Well, I guess things don't change. Too bad they are not doing this during the Over The Line Tourney..... That would be a great line up then.......

I dropped the boat off today (Thursday) and the site looks more promising than I thought it would. They are going to block off an area for the comp, but I think that boats and jet skis will still be in the area, so who knows what that's going to be like. I talked to a guy that was jet skiing and he said the water is still pretty cold, so maybe that will keep some away.

As far as weighting the boat goes, it will be stock weight (four tanks) plus about 400 lbs in Pop bags for most of the tournament. I don't know if they'll use the Wedge or not. I've got two 550 lb. sacs for the rear lockers for when Randy rides, but I'm not sure if we'll need it since I'm pretty sure there will be at least 10 people in the boat.

I've had several people ask me if they could get on the boat when Randy rides and they could only guarantee me one spot (for me). I can't even get my friends on my own boat! I'd offer to drive to save a spot, but I want to watch!

That sucks about the spots in the boat!

I'd hate to be my typical self, but that water is going to suck. Gramps, call me on Sunday.

Dave, You know I was up at 3:45.....

I have to agree with my son, it's going to be cold, windy and the water is going to suck by 8:00...but I will be there to check it out.

Bastard son...I will call you Saturday afternoon, I think McDaniels wants to check it out too.

Take the 8 west to Sports Arena Blvd. Turn right and it eventually turns into Ingrahm St., but you don't really need to know that. Go over both bridges and you'll see the set up on your right.

Not to piss in anyone's cornflakes, but why on earth didn't they do this on the waterski course? You can be pretty sure the conditions will suck after 10 or so...

Looks like there will be bacteria added to the mix too. It's pouring right now!

Nothing like "yellow eyes"....

Better get a Hepatitis shot...everything in the sewer from the East County to the bay will be floating in the water.

The Spleen...I agree 100% it should be on the ski course and only on the ski course. With the weather today and what looks to be more on Sunday it's going to be a rough day of riding.

No matter I'm still down to hang and watch.

The bad weather might help out the conditions because there is less likely to be other boaters and jet skis out there? :-)

That may be true Dave but since we have another system pushing through, the winds will be blowing from the southwest, which is straight up the bay with no protection. Hopefully the forecast is wrong! We'll see you tomorrow.

went to the comp yesterday and today. the competition was cool, the announcing sucked, conditions sucked, but the people took it in stride! randall harris threw down (as usual), even in rough conditions!

got to see old friends and made some new ones; gramps, laura, blabelmooch, melissa & nathan, tim krutz, slipknot, kelli "i'm flying out at 3pm...no i'm not...flying out...ooops missed my flight," josh lamar and family, mr. wakeworld, and everyone else! thanks for a great time!

I got a nice sun/wind burn at the comp. Good times hanging out with some old friends, and meeting Joe and Slipknot as well.

Also, I wonder if the 2001 creating rollers by riding back and forth in front of the comp was a fellow wakeworlder

It was good to see you again Joe.

Very impressive riding from some of the riders today considering the conditions.

The Vandal threw down!!

Tim, that's how people drive in San Diego!!!
