why would you ask which board other people like better? demo them...which ever one you like the most, guess what...that's the better board.

One thing that people from FL and CA, and handfull of other states seem to forget. Outside of these locations, there are not a lot of shops that let you demo. Im from Cincinnati, and I went through the same thing when searching for a new board. So you dont have a choice but to ask questions and do your research.

I just demoed the 138 Substance on the weekend. I can only compare it to a 138 trip, 98 bestboard, 143 Search, and a 128 squirt (99). I bought it yesterday when I took it back. I've not ridden any hyperlite boards so I would therefore have a biased opinion. I found the substance to be an intese ride, loads of pop and speed and the ability to break it loose when I wanted. This board fits my riding style good.

If you can't demo, can you rent? Some shops let you rent with money from the rent towards purchase.
