Ladies and gentlemen,

Been on first year (2006?) ronix one for as long as I can remember . . . It's time to move on.

I've narrowed it down to:

2012 reflex
2013 Kine
2012 recoil

I am 5'9" ~200lbs 90% boat 10% cable can someone tell me if the 145 reflex will be too long? My gut says no, but I wanted to confirm. The description and reviews I've seen on it seem to fit my style. And unfortunately I don't have resources to demo around here so if I hate it I'll be selling it. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I'd go 142 homie, 145 is a pretty damn big board

I think 145 is spot on for a 200lb rider. That's what I weigh and my 145cm Marek is money. I'm 6'3" though so maybe my height makes me favor longer deck.

Don't feel bad about leaving Ronix. I left Liquid Force this year for the first time since 1995. I switched to a Slingshot Hooke 142 with RAD boots and have no regrets. I'm 5'10"ish and 200ish pounds and the 142 fits me just right.

145. Hands down. I'm 6'1 and 185. Best board size I've ridden... (2012 Kine).

Also came from Ronix... really like their riders, products, company, etc and will continue to support the product and brand, but I broke a lot of their boards, and was looking for something that might be more durable and also work well with cable and boat... so SlingShot was a good decision for me.

145. Won't regret it.

Thanks guys . . . sounds like I can get away with either 142 - 145 ish. That helps. Now, which one out of those three? A little more info might help:

my boat is a slammed 2012 nautique 210. Right knee gives some fits so softer the landing the better.

I have to buck the trend here. If you're riding so much boat why would you get a SS made for cable?
My Shredtown is good behind the boat ( my 2012 Reflex sucked) but my Hypelite Murray kills both of them. It lands softer and is more consistent. Be objective when it comes to the hype about flex for boat..........
I'm 6.0 200 lbs and the 145 Reflex was BIG. Not too big for me but I'm way happier with the 143 Shredtown. My boat board is a 142.

Cory, given that the ronix one is 3-stage rocker board, the kine, Hooke, and recoil would be applicable choices given that you liked the straight up pop offered by that style of rocker line. A few questions I have are 1. Do you want a loose or locked in board when on edge? 2. Do you want quick acceleration or a gradual progressive acceleration into the wake and out of the landings? 3. Do you typically land wake to wake or in the flats?

I guess I have picked up on a lot of buzz surrounding flex boards for boat riding. Enough to get me intrigued, but as with all purchases I make I tend to do as much research as humanly possible before the purchase. Does anyone agree with Dust's thought that SS isn't really for boat?

You should consider test riding the new Ronix One shape. It's Dynamite.

i don't think there is a problem with slingshots behind the boat.
when slingshot first came out they were marketed more to boat than to cable riders. the first ones that came out were a bit flexier than todays

its all a preference thing which is as significant as choosing between continuous or 3 stage rockers... if not more so.

some hate flex all together others love it all around and then others like them just for park riding.

Personally been loving slingshot since the beginning

Jeremy, I wish slingshot would bring back the flex of those earlier boards so much fun

I agree with the Recoil! I'm 185 lbs and 6'1". Used to ride an LF Lyman! loved it... Just switched to Slingshot Recoil this year. I was very skeptical about how loose the board was going to be with no bottom features! But it rides great!... loose when you're flat, grips on edge, and pops super big... and it's pretty predictable for a 3 stage. I only really ever ride boat, so SS seemed like and odd choice, but I like their take on the sport! simple, good riding! and their boards seem to follow that thought process good luck!
