need some help guys
I have 2 reversible Jabsco pumps in a manifold

I replaced the impellers with the yellow impellers

I found that 1 of the original impellers had a fin missing

I assume it's stuck in the pvc manifold somewhere

the other pump works fine

the one that had the missing fin (now with a new yellow impeller) took a while to prime and doesn't have much push or pull

I haven't opened it all back up yet.....

that pump makes alot more noise than the other one...

could the trouble be the impeller is backwards? or would you guys tear into the pvc and look for the missing fin?...that would be a major pain the the arse

The pump housing might be scored. I bet the impeller fin is in a sack somewhere.

The impeller fins will right themselves when you first turn it on. I've never understood the concerns with putting them in "backwards".

I opened the pump and the new impeller looks good

but, there was 2 webworm cocoons around the shaft
I hate those things
perhaps it will run better now that I have cleaned it out
trace, what if the housing is scored?
time for a new pump?
can you sleeve them?

Sounds like it's not scored. It would be pretty obvious when you opened it. The impeller would probably be a little shredded on the edges of the vanes, too. I don't know if Jabscos are rebuildable or not.

If it doesn't get better, maybe look for corrosion in the electric motor? Measure the amp draw if you can.

thanks
if I were to replace the pump, what reversible pump would you recommend?

Jabsco makes a nice pump, just pricey. If you're in the engine compartment, Simer isn't an option anyway.
