Ok, this is such a weird problem but I can't keep my eyes open when I throw inverts. As soon as I leave the wake I close my eyes. I can land several of them but really want to conquer this problem.

Maybe your the type of person who just feels the flip. Thats why your eyes are shut. Just a thought.

I used to have that problem. When you feel like your upside down try opening them and do that time after time. soon enough you'll get used to it

Get on a trampoline, yours or a friends if you dont have one. Play catch with a soft football, have someone stand off to the side of the trampoline and focus on catching the ball while your upside down. Make a game out of it, have a contest with your friend and see who can catch the most passes without dropping. This will warm you up to opening your eyes upside down.

so have them throw the ball to you when you are coming around from the invert?

Yes, make sure the ball is soft. You should catch it when your feet are over your head. Or you can just focus on looking around when you work out on the trampoline. I try to look at the springs and horizon while I am flipping.

I've also done back flips where a guy on the ground right in front of me held up fingers. I would have to say how many he was holding up before my feet touched back down. It was good practice.

I had this problem bad for a while. I don't really know how I fixed it...its all a subconcious fear thing though. Just takes practice.
