I'm in FL right now and was really wanting to hit up o-dub today since it's my last day down here, but it's raining and the weather seems to be getting windy and possibly thunderstormy. I'm wondering what it takes for OWC to close for the day or if it just closes for a short time, or what. I'm in Cocoa beach, so I'm trying to decide if it's worth the drive to Orlando despite the weather, because i don't want to get there and have it close down early because or rain or something.

OWC only closes if lightning is within a few miles of the park. You should have no problem if you head there today.

Yeah, I saw lightning hit the boat lake once. It was CRAZY! They had been open in the rain but as soon as lightning got close they stopped. Then it hit the lake right in front of me, it was probably the loudest thing I had heard in a long time! Like 20-30 min later they were back and running it again.

Do you guys know if they pull boat sets in the rain? I'll be down all next week and have boat sets scheduled every day for the week but the weather reports not looking so good for a couple of the days. They said that they were pretty booked a couple of the days also, so if they dont pull in the rain I'm thinking it may get jammed up.

I didn't see any boat riders today while I was there. It was pretty cool though, because the rain and the shutdowns chased everyone off, so i wandered around Orlando and came back after the storm had passed, and got to ride constantly. Was very cool, there were only 3 of us.

The big lake's cable control center flashed really bright at one point and there was a flash, but I don't know what happened there. Could have just been a static buildup and discharge there during the storm. That storm today though was gnarly, the Florida Mall parking lot had pools of water up to 8 inches deep, one of which I was parked in, haha.

Thanks for the responses though guys!
