Well here it is... finally! Bought last friday at Buckeye Marine... awesome place, top notch.. no wonder they got ranked number 1 in Canada and top 15 dealers in North Amverica by Boating Industry magazine!

Well it's a 2006 X-1 Demo with the RTP engine
teak swim platform
mooring cover
stereo w/ sub
pull-out cleats
triple KBG ballast
bimimi top

Sorry to driving shots, was too busy using the boat.. Got it delivered to our lake on saturday morning at about 10 a.m. and took it cruise'n with the family.
Did some boarding and really enjoyed learning to wakesurf... lots of fun..

Only put 6 hours on the boat, suprisin;y only burned about 1/2 tank of fuel..
Here are some pics, just as we got it at our dock..

Only complain is couldn't get the cruise to go lower than 10 mph for surfin... is there a trick other than manual setting of speed? (about 2000-2100 rpm)

Sick boat bro. I love mine and the wake is soo kickin'. Nice color choice too. Just when I start to think I'm done with yellow boats you go and post one that I think looks sick.

Can you explain that dock setup to me?

Once again, nice boat.
Old     (gti2lo)      Join Date: Nov 2005       09-18-2006, 12:36 PM Reply
Dock set-up? Well fairly simple. They are mooring whips from Dock Edge. Where the boat is moored the water at times can get get a fair number of waves from boats tubing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and general cruising. So the whips keep the boat away from the dock and not boucing off of it.

Also it is much easier on the dock and it's joints, since it's a floating dock. (water is about 15 feet deep. Rocky shore and the water drops off.)

Any other questions you would like? Whips run about $350 canadian and take about 40 mins to install.

Just like the one in the brochure!! Though I think the yellow colour in real life is better!!

Nice boat Greg! You will love it!

With the MC cruise, we were thinking the same thing the first time we started surfing. The dealer told us that for 07 they are lowering the minimum speed to 8... go figure, but in the end you really don't want to run below 10 mph anyway. Once you figure out the technique it is perfect. Loaded with people we surf at about 10.4

We were trying, 2 people on the passenger side, passenger rear ballast full and center full, and about 3/4 tank of fuel..

Nice wake, just couldn't find the "sweet" spot to let go of the rope...

Sorry, but if I pay that much for a boat Id just assume have the warranty in tact.

Not too hard to put around for a few hours before riding behind it you know? Ive heard that a proper break in can make or break an engine in both performance and longevity.

Not trying to spoil your fun though, Ive always wanted a black/yellow (reverse your colors) x1.

ps im a former hawkeye.

Add more weight and you will be able to increase your speed over 10.

Did anyone else notice that the speakers in the bow were mounted near the floor? We have a X2/X1 and our speakers are mounted above our seats in the area with exposed fiberglass. Did they purposely mount the speakers in a different spot and if so, what advantage does this provide?
P.S The boat is very sharp. I hope you enjoy it.

You're warranty would still be in tact.

Interesting, my local dealer screams about break in voiding warranty, I really dont know...if you do so be it.

I know I would have a hard time not riding right away myself!

Those speakers look like Clarions... Where are the two in the cockpit area mounted Greg?
Old     (99_slaunch)      Join Date: Oct 2005       09-18-2006, 8:01 PM Reply
If you look carefully through the drivers window it looks like they are mounted under the rear seat.

First off, the boat is a Demo and got properly broken in by the dealer.

As for the mounting of the speakers it was done by the dealer I guess and they did it their own way.

The speakers are mounted below the seats in the bow and I guess it was their preference. As for the rear speakers I think it's a good location that both are behind the the driver.

I guess it's a little hard to change the location of them now without some fiberglass repair. }

Greg, can I ask what a demo goes for?

I got about $10k off sticker price of a new one, full warranty(3 yr), free winter storage, and don't pay till june 07....

greg, do you have a hydohoist for that piece of joy?
Old     (gti2lo)      Join Date: Nov 2005       09-18-2006, 8:41 PM Reply
Nope... it's going to have the joy of sitting in the water from may till october!! Every week give it a scrub!
Where we are it's hard since the water drops of so quick.. where it is moored it's about 15 feet deep.

I don't think it's going to have any issues of blistering.. our previous boat never had any..

I don't see the sense of spending $6000+ on a hydrohoist...

Be weary of that fuel gage. When an X2/X1 fuel gage says anything other than full, it's comparable to the "low fuel" light flashing in your truck. It's horribly inaccurate.
Old     (gti2lo)      Join Date: Nov 2005       09-19-2006, 8:55 AM Reply
so I used the boat 6 hours and when sitting it shows 1/2 tank... should I be concerned?

I know when we had it set at 10 mph the gauge was at full because the fuel sloshed to the back of the tank because of the angle of the boat.

Is there something more I should know about the gauge? Should I never go below a certain level?

???? My fuel gage is dead on. Greg, try to keep it above 1/2 a tank for fuel filter/fuel pump reasons.
Old     (gti2lo)      Join Date: Nov 2005       09-19-2006, 10:49 AM Reply
Seems pretty accurate, I moves well... fuel pump... it's a intank pump like a car...doesn't it sit in a "sump" location much like a car? also I guess as long as it doesn't slosh around too much you are fine.
Old     (ontrider2)      Join Date: Sep 2006       09-19-2006, 11:13 AM Reply

From what I understand, the fuel filter only filters under 1/4 of a tank. The filters have been known to clog, running the pump dry and burning the pump up. I change my fuel filter every year....

"I change my fuel filter every year...." that is just being smart, it's such a cheap part and gas you buy at the pump isn't necessarily clean and filtered from debris.

what is the method for changing the fuel filter on the x stars/205V's of those years? the fuel filter is in the tank itself, correct?

we can run our gas tank on our 2005 x2 down to empty... ive heard of this and seen it..big some extra gas and see how low you can get it so your not stranded out on the water on a busy weekend

Joe, I have the same issue with my 02 Star. It could be on 1/3 tank and I could run out in 2 minutes. I have come to the conclusion my gas tank is cone shaped...kidding of course. I often wondered if there is a problem in the float, but the dealer has never found a problem. We just try to keep full most of the time...more lbs anyway!

Greg, Very nice! I've used the dock edge whips for years w/o issue. Every couple of years call them and they'll send you new lines for short money. They get a little slippery after a couple of years and the tensioner's(sp) will fall once in a while. Best of luck!

nwrep, that's funny....

Gti, that's our wakesurf setup and it works great. A couple more people on that side of the boat and the wave will be huge.....What kind of board are you riding? I suspect you might weigh too much for that board, try an inland surfer red tide or blue lake. You'll have a easier time finding the pocket!!
Old     (gti2lo)      Join Date: Nov 2005       09-25-2006, 4:29 PM Reply
I am riding a Obrien surf board... got a great deal at 40% off from local shop since it's season end... It's a fairly large board... I think I have to just go at it more and find the "sweet" spot.
Old     (lionel)      Join Date: Nov 2005       09-25-2006, 7:32 PM Reply
I had a Liquid Force and a CWB and could barely stay in the sweet spot last year. Got the Inland Surfer yellow and can go forever....By all means, keep practicing and have fun. It's just that I have found a board made by wakesurf company is better than a board made by wakeboard company. My .02...
Old     (gti2lo)      Join Date: Nov 2005       09-25-2006, 8:07 PM Reply
Well I just spent some good money on the board, Lets not waste and throw it out, lets try a few things first.
Old     (wakeslife)      Join Date: Jul 2005       09-25-2006, 8:30 PM Reply
Its all in the technique, Greg. I can freeride a 4 ft 9 broadcast behind our X1 with only 2 passengers on the port side and stock ballast. You will get it eventually.

Very sharp looking boat. The speaker location in the bow. The 2005 that I have has the speakers on either side of the middle cushion in the bow. Yours are close to the floor. IS that after market or is that where MC is putting them now? We throw a fat sac in the bow walkway so that speaker location would be pretty much useless for us. What do you do for your front ballast?

The dealer istalled them there as it was a demo... I don't know why, but It's not like I can just relocate them.....

Thanks for rubbing it in.... Think I'll have a boat a couple more weeks then it's gone till about may as the ice thaws out end of april beginning of may.

Spring time I am going to do a custom audio system. Most likely custom enclosure for 2 x 10 image dynamics subs, tower speakers w/ trigger wire wired to acc switch on dash... turn on and off with a "click" clarion remote for the driver.
