Am looking to order a loaded 2006 VLX and price (before taxes, freight, dealer prep) is around $62K. Engine upgrade to the 340HP Monsoon, Blade tower, custom extreme trailer, custom cover, bimini, high end stereo package, power wedge, and most all other smaller (hot water shower, heater, cleats, etc) options as well. I realize there are regional pricing differences but was wondering if anyone has ordered a similar boat and what they paid. Base with trailer started at $52K but 10% taken off (as "boat show" price) so true starting based before adding options is $47K (including trailer). How much additional negotiating power do I have? Should I focus on getting the "freight and dealer prep" fee ($2K)taken out? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i agree with Big Ed... Last year I had an 05 negotiated out to about 48K loaded to the T. I ended up going a different route, but 50K is probably what you will want to get down too. Good luck. Nice boat...

I would guess that out the door it is going to be closer to 55k. Reasons being that the blade tower is an expensive upgrade as well as the power wedge being an expensive option. The heater, shower, cleats and monsoon do not add a lot of price to the boat but, 3500 for a tower and 2000(est) for the power wedge will make it more than boats of the past ex. 05 model pricing.

55-58k loaded would be great deal. Unfair to compare to x-2 as is much cheaper for MC to roll out a boat on a 7-8 year old hull. 06 X-2 with new hull would be more reasonable comparison and that will be about the same give or take.

WHen I say 48-50. I got quotes from 2 dealers and they were 05's, but loaded. They were loaded and the Blade tower does not make a huge price difference if you are getting a normal tower option all loaded up with 4 speakers and lights and surfboard rack. Did not have power wedge then either. And we don't pay sales tax. The 55K price is probably a little more accurate depending on where you are...

Ok that is true...it was a 05' as well.So add 2k-3k and also don't get the stereo that comes with it take at least a few grand off of the price and milk them for 52k-53k out the door.

I can tell you for a fact I had two dealerships at the same price. No reason to lie about it. I did not even order the boat. Keep in mind no sales tax where I am from.... you gotta hone those negotiation skills folks....

Diggs- 50k loaded 06 vlx isn't gonna happen sales tax or not. 50k not loaded maybe. Any reasonable options anybody is going to want is going to push price up to at least mid 50's.

ok....... either you are a dealer trying to keep the prices up or just a bad negotiater. No point in arguing. I don't care. I worked with 2 dealers to get to that price. Both matched the 48K. Again, this was last year. We have been saying 05' the whole time...no sales tax, no power wedge.... end of story.... pay what you think is fair...

the dealers in cali are asking 48 to 50 for the loaded v-ride..you should by the vlxs and bring them down here and make your self some money! i just cant believe there is that much difference in price between dealers...i dont understand why..im looking in the cali boattrader right now and there is vlxs 2 years old for 45 to 52.. its crazy! maybe there is just way more demand down here...

From what I have seen, there are probably not many new 05's around, but if the are, you may be talking prices that low. There was a price jump for the 06's, and they are closer to low to mid 60's, OTD.

As much as people repeat it, seems nobody listens... "PRICING IS REGIONAL." Dealers get so many boats, they have a pretty good idea what their market is....they price the boats accordingly. Surprisingly enough, they usually end up selling all their allotment.

Last year availabilty was a big problem. Copes wasn't giving much on 05s. First of all, by the time I looked, you couldn't even get one loaded. They were standing their ground on the price even the ones that were somewhat loaded. With less than a dozen in possesion, they were getting asking price or damn close. At the time I bought my X2, no way could you get one for 50 out the door unless you were in real tight. More like 50K + tax. And no front ballast tank.

J Rod's right on the money there. Copes wasn't giving anything on the VLX 05's. When I looked they could get me a much better price on an LSV, because they had 10 LSVs for every VLX they had.

At the time, I was buying a 05 X2. I called Copes and shared what I was paying for the X2 (loaded) and asked if they would match it. ....so I own an X2. I couldn't justify the extra 8-10K for the VLX. Wake was the most important factor and I'm very happy.
