Here's the choice:
2004 X-Star- no tower speakers or lights, but everything else. 250+ hrs.
I LOVE the way it looks, all the bling, storage, but my main problem is the engine. It has the 350MCX and i think it might be underpowered with a full crew. 53K

2004 X-30- tower lights, tower speakers, xm radio, fully loaded like the X-star. 30 hrs. Doesn't have as much storage as the X-Star but still is very big inside. Same engine as the X-Star- 350 MCX but weighs 1000 pounds less and has much better performance. Performance-wise, no problem with a full crew. 48K

I've driven both boats, and liked them both. The x-star had about 5 people when we demoed and it did fine but not exceptional. I don't know how it will do when you fill it up with another five people.

Any opinions would help. Thanks.

I'd get the X-30 based on the hours alone. 250 hours os quite a bit for an 04. This being a new boat for you I'm sure you'll be putting a ton of hours on it this summer and you'll be over 400 hours by August. All the bonus stuff on X-30 are really nice because I'm sure your going to want them anyways. It just saves you the headache getting them all installed.
Or you could just flip a coin and get it over with.

Someone was telling me that the X-30 is being replaced. Do you think that will hurt the resale value?

Go with the x30 if you plan to have a big crowd in it. The engine is great, that 350 really works well.. And that is a sweet price. I got my MAristar 230, put speakers, tower lights, etc. 2003 right of the lot last summer for 50000 with TT and L, so that 48 is awesome, 30 hrs, that is still new

are you kidding? X-Star. The MCX will be fine. If you feel you need more power, change the prop. the wake on the X-30 is very rampy and washes out easily. hrs are not that big of a deal. its barely broken in. have fun.

I would say X-Star hands down, like cdm said just replace the prop and you will be just fine. 250hrs is nothing to worry about. Post some pictures when you get it.

X star, better wake if weighted properly.

X30, more room (yes it has more room inside, but less in the bow) I love my X30. Yes it is being replaced, but it has already happened, resale has already taken the hit. Ride them both, I can go out with 8+ large guys and we have plenty of room and performance does not suffer. The decision was a toss up for me, it came down to the dollars.

The X 30 has already been replaced they i think they call it an 06 but it i already at dealerships. the X
30's wake is very wide and it doesn't have racking fins. it was oiginaly built to compete with he high end runnabou market like cobalt.

I would get the X star. it will hold its alue better and it has a great wake plus it still rides well in rough water. unless you plan on having 10 plus people in the boat mos of the time space shouldn't be that big of an issue.
