Wakestock... wakeboarding event of the year... well sorta??

This year was lacking.. Island residents of Toronto have pushed the event out of Toronto.

Now smaller venue, no FMX, no Oakley winch pool, small vendor midway, and MORE EXPENSIVE!!! ($55 for a one day pass)

I am sure all the bands drive up the price.. I was only there for the boardin!!

Conditions were crap on Saturday (windy/cold) but I heard Sunday was much better after the skies opened up for a bit.

pic is taken right before rollers came by... nonetheless it's dumped!

Michael can't agree more.. was a perfect venue! Where else did you have access by public transit and a greater population of 7 million plus people?? Any Wakeboarding event!!!

The picture of the guy holding a Coors light, is that a 6oz can or does he have hands the size of Shaq?

The can looks tiny.

Beer is size of a soda/pop can.

That is the normal size here in Canada, though we do have "tall boys" with are the larger 12oz ones.

They were charging $6 a beer in the beer garden. 2-3 hour line up to get in... one point beer garden was at capacity so no one was getting in.

I was so disappointed this year! Not nearly as good as it was in toronto. Choppy water and viewing sucked!! Hotel accommodations were zero! No big clubs to have after parties. Almost everything was worste.

Let's refer to the $55 for a saturday day pass... INSANE!

Smaller venue, rural ontario not Toronto, many items missing from the event such as Oakley pool, FMX demo, etc and more expensive!

That boat is SCARY low to the waterline!!! I dont see much of a wave taking that thing to the depths.

$55 for a wake event eh? That's steep.

I always feel bad for the riders when I see conditions like that. It's not fun to watch the Elite riders struggle to land basic tricks (for them) in choppy water.

Jarrod- Conditions were much better on Sunday.. hot, humid and no wind...

Sat was windy, cold, choppy water...

If you wanted a weekend pass it was $70

Not to mention I paid $20 to park also... so I was in hole $75 to get in...

Good thing I brought a bottle of water and some cookies...

$6 beer, $4 bottled water, $4 extra small slice of pizza....

Good lord that Bubu' must be SLAMMED. A jet ski roller could very well send that thing to the bottom.

The even should take place behind the Casino in Montreal. always glassy even when it's windy ( around 1000ft wide X 1.5 mile long with trees surrounding it). and if you wanna have an after party, montreal is second to none when it comes to partying... not saying that ontario blows, but come on... atleast have the damn contest in Tdot.
ps, I still can't get over the slammed BU. wow.

Sad to see that the conditions were so crappy. I've always wanted to attend this event but this one doesn't sound as good as the old ones used to be. I remember hearing so many good things about it when in was a pro-am event in the Muskokas. It's too bad that the event outgrew the venue. Montréal sounds like a good spot for the event.

Conditions we're actually amazing for Sunday: somebody told me it was the hottest day of the summer. Except for the finals as the mother of all storms was blowing in and ended up hitting the site about a half an hour after everyone left. There was two feet of water on the road into the site, would have been hectic if everyone was still there.

OK...It could be worth the trip.
