Stereo turns off when I turn on the engine.

Whenever I turn on the engine the stereo turns off then back on so I get to listen to the first song on my mp3 disk about 1 billion times. Any clues on how to debug this?

Wire the radio turn on wire to a direct wired rocker switch instead of the ignition switch. Some ignition switches disconnect the ACC wire during starting.

your starter can draw enough current to make your radio shut down and restart....even if you wire it directly thru a rocker switch.
