I back and the wife loads/unloads in and out of the ramp in 2 min.
I don't understand how it takes some people so long on the ramp. I have been tempted a few times to go offer a hand so they don't tie the ramp up for 15 min trying to get a boat in the water.

The wife does the boat driving, and I do the truck. We are in and out within a couple of minutes and don't use any dock space as she just picks me up or drops me off of the swim platform. It is very comical to watch some of these people really struggle with a boat. I am always willing to help if the situation calls for it, but most of the time these people are already yelling at the ones they have there to help them. My wife keeps wondering why no one seems to be able to drive their boat on or off the trailer?

On the occasion my wife goes to the ramp, the only thing she does is look good in a Bikini and sips the beverages. Always need a trusted third with some ramps skills.

My wife always did the boat.

she is the boat driver. She would rather deal with weaving the gauntlet of knobs tied to the dock than the kids from the swim area darting behind the trailer as I back in.

So the first time I had my fiance put the boat it the water, she backed it down perfectly, I was so proud. So we are afloat in the marina and she ( 5'0 porno blonde hair and fake D ****) comes sprinting down the ramp on to the dock, I go pick her up and she is almost in tears. She then begins to tell me that as she was pulling into her parking spot, the trailer clipped the trailer next to it. So I tie up and run up there, trying not to laugh or get mad. I come up to the trailer and my vender has met the others guide pull, didnt hurt his trailer but tweeked my vender pretty good. I fixed it hugged her and said its okay, I can be fixed. As we are walking away from the truck, a speeding cool guy in a lifter F250 with a go fast boat comes flying down the isle and clips my front bumper and pulled my bumper of my heavy duty half off... Now I was pissed, The cops saw and came over arrested flat bill Johnny and then we discover he has no insurance and is sh*# houed drunk. YAAAAY my luck! True story by the way! Now my lady can drive the boat and truck great after a little coaching.

I back it it, she takes the drivers seat, I jump in the boat and back off , she pulls the trailer and parks. No backing for her but she has tried and wants to do it.

From day one I told my girlfriend ( now wife) that if she wanted to come out that she would need to learn how to do both because I don't want to be running back and fourth. The launch at our summer house is dead quiet so she was able to take her time with no stress to figure it out. Everytime we go now she is the one driving the truck and she is getting really good at it. The only thing she has to learn now is to do it with a bit more speed. I give her credit though cause you almost have to jack knife the trailer and the ramp is pretty steep too. I always make people learn the truck part first as putting the boat on the trailer can be a bit more tricky. I find everyone wants to over steer and they don't feather the throttle in and out of gear so you don't come in too hot.

+1 for having a buddy teach your significant other.

I had a buddy teach my Girlfriend to back the trailer, and now she does a great job! :-D

^^^ ya, it's always funny. You teach and your being condescending or rude but if your friend teaches they shut up and listen.lol.

I said that to my buddy in front of my wife and his and he totally agreed.

You guys have it all wrong. Here is how it goes.
-My wife drives the truck and trailer to and from the landing, my girlfriend drives the boat off the trailer, around all day long and back on the trailer, then I just ride and drink beer all day while they do all the hard work!

She has truck/trailer duty. I am in charge of the boat. She is free to do boat duty when she wants, but the "division of labor" is working fine for now. My wife could parallel park a truck and trailer combo...she is good.

We have seen far too many ugly wife v. husband scenes at the ramp! Some folks only trailer their boat a few times a season and have major troubles loading/ unloading.

My wife (girlfriend at the time) would not back the trailer at first. One day she wanted to take the jetski out and I was busy.... Stop what I'm doing so you can go play? I dont think so. But...I did agree ot take her the next day. And when we got there, All I did was hold the bow line.

Now she backs the trailer as well as I can

My wife has some sort of mental block and thinks all vehicles are the same size as a Honda Civic. I bought her a SUV and she hit every curb in town and never adjusted to it, back to small cars for her. No way I'm letting her back up my big truck with the boat attached. However, she does an excellent job at driving the boat. She loads and unloads it every time, I think I've loaded the boat twice.

2 years now, and my wife still refuses to back the truck down, and there is no way she can drive the boat. I've taken her to empty parking lots, abandoned roads, etc., but driving with the trailer nuts her up. I guess I'm screwed.
