I am looking to purchase a new board and bindings soon and wanted a little help on something. I am 6'2, and weigh 215 lbs. I am more of a beginner than an intermediate riding behind my 18ft Stingray Bowrider.
My buddy is 5'9 and only 135 lbs soaking wet. could you tell me what the best size of board I should get, and if I need 2 different ones, what size for each? I am looking for something on a budget for the time being and would like to keep the cost down so I can have more $$ for other things.
Also, I have an old Hyperlite board with the old school Velcro bindings that I would like to throw in the trash, and I share it between anyone who wants to ride behind the boat, short tall, big and tiny. My question is what is the difference in the fins on the bottom? the board I have has some big fins in the middle of the board, on the front and back, and I cant seem to do anything at all on that board. Is there a difference in the molded fins that are a pair on the front and back, more to the sides of the board? What kind of difference is there in riding the two styles, and sizes?
