I have some very low quality clarion speakers in my hull...and wanted to upgrade to some MB Quarts...What size can I fit in there, without having to change much (if anything)...I dont have my boat with me, so I want to order some speakers for my installer to put in.....There are so many MB Quarts...Can I fit some 216 (6.5" in each spot), or can I only fit the 113 (5.25")...If I can I would love to put some 169s in there, but I dont want to cut a larger hole in there...Want to keep it as simple as possible, but also upgrading from what I have (clarions). For those of you that have a Air Nautique, what did you put in for an upgrade..

I have an 02 Air and we replaced the stock speakers wih some 6.5" pioneers. Amazing sound emprovment. The best thing to do is to pull the can that holds the clarion out ( thats a big pain in the ass!) and go into your audio dealer listen and see if what you like fits the can.

Grant,

Do you have these in your nautique? Do they blow away the current clarion speakers? I dont want to bother if the increase in performance will only be gradual, but if it substantial...then a few more bills is worth it...

Eric I saw your Boat today At the Shop. I was down there getting Parts. If you have good Amps. You can make crappy speakers sound good. Example I had the Kicker Impulse Marin Speakers in my boat It had a small kicker amp They sounded crappy As aoon As I put a new Bigger amp the speakers sounded 100 times better If you have Good Amps you cam make good sounding speakers sound great. ERIC Why Don't you stop Messing around and Come over here (Bring Your Credit Card) and we will go shopping and you can stop dicking around. Come On Man Lets spend some Money$

hehe, I cant spend THAT kind of money....Ive seen the new system your getting...FOUR freaking Precision Power amps.....now thats some scratch just in amps...I have so much crap im doing to the house, that I can only take little steps in improving my system....I did go with Precision Power for the amp (installer recommended the 4125 for the tower)...he walked me through his entire set up, and it pretty much jived with everything you have mentioned.....Hes very clean in his work (hiding wiring, no sloppy work)....Well see....Also getting him to move everything under the drivers side, along with creating a custom encloser for the sub.....Maybe half way through the summer when I get some extra scratch, Ill upgrade the sub and internal speakers and amp....But just getting this thing going is costing an arm and a leg...add that to my home theater system im setting up at home....OUCH!!!!

Well Ill be back out by the end of March...So welll have to meet up...

IF, thats a big IF, I decided to get one more amp, could I get one good one to run both the hull speakers and the sub? Since I am already going Precision Power, I would lean towards another from them....Any sugguestions?

i've got a sony 5 channel i'm hoping will be sufficient to give the sub more power and handle the kicker boat speakers. then i want to get a ppi or phoenix gold 2 channel for whatever i decide to put up on the tower. anything's gotta sound better than the tiny little 4 channel that's driving everything right now...

Eric: Check it out There's lots of space under the Dash. You have to do a lot of cutting and moving Im still not finished

Havent looked at your site in some time....forgot how sweet your entire setup is.....

Didnt realize how much time and $$ you put into your boat...

One question, do you think it advisable to upgrade the alternator in my situation...Im basically only going to run two amps the the PPI 4125 for the tower, and for now the stock kicker amp for the hull/sub.....Then I have the 7 light set up...but thats not really draining your juice much, since its not really used all that much correct? I dont want my batteries (which I have 2) dying on me, but im thinking I should be fine, but just thought Id throw the idea out to you..

CDTs High Definitions and Dyna Aduios are the ****z. Very load efficient speakers, crystal clear sound, flat response curve. Blows higher priced MB Qs away. Rainbow also makes a good speaker.

Eric, I was using a single 4125 for my tower driving two sets of Boss Cannisters. I did not get the volume I desired. I am now hitting my towers with 250 to 300 watts per channel and it is crystal clear while riding, even the mids and lows are good 70 feet back. Don,t get me wrong, the 4125 is very nice and you will have to spend more to get the higher wattage.
