replacing rub rails

How difficult is it to replace or maybe even repair a boat's rub rails? Mine were once black, but a fading badly? If it helps, I have an 01 SangAir. Thanks in advance.

Thanks to a dock, a section of ours came out recently. Heat is the key, use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm it up and it will be very pliable and easy to install by hand.

Did you go to a boat dealer to get the replacement?

We just had a 1' section come loose and just had to reinstall not replace. After my dad worked on it the hard way I got a hair dryer and warmed it up and pushed it back in in seconds. Heat is definitely the way to go. If you're doing a big section get a bucket of hot water to soak the piece to install.
