If your having to work hard on getting air on a vlx I don't think it's the boat that has the problem. I do agree however that those are totally two different style of wakes but should get great air on both

I'd suggest spell check and proof reading first, then work on proper edging technique second.

I can get plenty of air with the malibu, yet the boat I have been riding behind has to be weighted just right. The ballast is all manual and we wakeskate as well, so it may not always be set up the way I like to ride. I am 33 and started at the end of the season before last. but as a kid I used to do a lot of knee boarding skiing as well as won many skateboard competitions. I landed 2 flips the first day out behind the malibu. the next season I went out on the malibu every week and did well. I then had a pull by a 211 nautique at first it hurt my knees a little going so high and landing in the flats. I sections to the rope and just loved it. I rode behind that boat for the next 5 trips. when I got back behind the malibu I had to work more to get high I would end up way in the flats. that trip I tore my acl when I did method and landed about 10 foot into the flats.

Must be, why is the ballast manual? You like them more verticle wake I'm gathering, have you tried using the wedge?

we have to fill them with the live well type pumps. and yes I like a more vert in my wake. and the wake is better with the wedge the owner just does not like to use it because he feels it robs all of the performance. I am looking at a black 210 I have just heard they are harder to keep up and if you scratch it it is very expensive to fix

new orleans and there is really no one close that rides, so I have not been on many wakeboats and my buddy with the malibu only wants to go out on saturdays I want to go out everyday my business is on the intracoastal waterway and we are the only ones wake boarding. for the most part there is not much traffic, and there is always some place flat to ride.

a nautique wake is somewhat wider then a malibus... that is probably where the problem lies... that and laziness... didnt you just blow your acl?

I love the Nautique wake, and I'm not a huge Bu wake fan, I totally understand!! The Sante 210 is one of the best, and the all black isn't that bad on a newer boat, as in 01 and up. I'm sure others will argue with me, but I love the Nauti!!

oops.. i meant that the other way around...nautique wake narrow and abrupt with weight... a malibu is wide and rampy

A 211 != a 210!!!! Ride behind a 210 before you even think about getting one. Many people find this wake tricky.

yes.... half the weight or more in the bow...its crazy how much bow weight you need in those things... thats the price you pay for perfection

I know it takes alot of bow weight for those things to put out a Bu-like wake

BTW have there been any other circumstances beyond the first wedge with the low grade bolt issues? Has the power wedge or the new free floating wedge had an issue with this?
