I have been looking at new Malibu VLX's but not sure if I want to spend $50,000. What's the best used boat can I expect to get for $25,000 for wakeboarding and tubing? What would you recommend?

Not sure if it makes a difference but I am located in California (east of San Francisco).

Thanks
Allan

1995 or later nautique super sport. put a tower on it and plumb in some sacs and you have a super air. price for a 1995 should start around $20k if in good shape.

if you look around you can find much better deals then a 95 sport...My 2000 21i cost me much less then that and it only had 39 hours on it, you could easily find a newer nautique, tige, supra or malibu for that kind of money...just look around and dont buy the first thing you see

A little travel and the cost of a tower and this is a winner as well...

There's a nice 2000 x-star in the classifieds right now for just a tad more.

I was in the 25k Range too and came to the conclusion that the Sanger V210 was the best bang for the buck. The wake is great and that was very important to Me. The only negative thing I can say about the V210 is the interior isn't as nice as a Nauti, MC or Malibu.

I've been in plenty of wake boats and the Sanger V210 also handles as well as any thing out there.

Good luck in Your search.

I would look for a used Sanger. You should be able to find a '01 or '02 for around 25K with a tower. I saw a 2002 for 28K on craiglist bay area the other day. It is a little more then 25 but offer them 25k. Good luck

"The only negative thing I can say about the V210 is the interior isn't as nice as a Nauti, MC or Malibu." I would have to agree with that Walt. I think they have really stepped up the interiors the last few years though. Don't forget Walt, we can make your interior anything you want it to be... it's only money.

Another vote for the Nauti Super Sport. I found mine, a pristine '95 with 38 hours for $22K

find yourself a Toyota Epic. For the money, there isn't anything better. If you can find a clean one, it'll last forever and the wake is super. Check out epicmarine.com

I think it's a guy here on this forum's boat. Mike Gilbert maybe, but I'm not sure.
