Finally tried to do a back roll this past Saturday. Got a few attempts on my buddies phone. I have no idea what I'm doing once i get into the air. Got any tips for me? I'm going back Labor Day Weekend to try again.

It looks like you're just letting your legs go flying out behind you, I just landed a backroll this summer and what I thought about when throwing the trick is to just throw your left shoulder under your right arm. Your board should sweep out behind you and look for the water over your right shoulder to spot your landing early

several things your not doing

1.coming in in the tall position
2. coming in easy and then leaning back progressive edging through the wake....you should accelerat through the wake it will flip you.(your just riding through the wake with speed you have built up early)
3.your not bringing in your hands when going up coming off the wake...hands should come in between waist and chest.

once you do those things you will get more pop and spin all the way around.

seriously pay 10 bucks for learnwake and you will save yourself the crashes

you're trying to "huck" the trick and you are stopping your progressive edge. Keep your edge that you have, but as you get closer to the wake you need to start edging harder away from the boat. Also stand tall right before you release off the wake, it will help your back foot kick off the wake like it should. I learned it by standing tall at the last minute and edging away from the boat was the key. when I first learned this and didn't edge away from the boat, I wouldn't land the trick. Halfway thru this trick, you can bend your knees to prepare for the landing. Plus that will help you learn to grab it later.
