Yesterday my brother and I were out an the lake all day practicing. Both of us have only been wakeboarding for about a month. Granted we get a little more water time than most people because I live on a private lake. Anyway we bought two used boards from a friend when we started, only one set of bindings. The first board is an '02 belmont the other is an older hyperlite with black and purple flames. Originally we had one set of hyperlite split bindings. A few days ago my brother purchased a the new Torq bindings for the belmont. Up until then we did'nt ride the older hyperlite since it did'nt have bindings. Yesterday we put the split bindings on the older hyperlite which I think may be a "Cruiser". Anyway we both tried it and it seemed to be MUCH lighter than the belmont. Both of us seemed to do much better on our progressive edge and jumps. My brother even landed a HS 180 a couple times and almost a landed a HS 360. The older board also has only 2 large fins versus the 6 smaller fins on the belmont. Now my question is does anyone know what the older board that I think is a "cruiser" actually is? And what new board would give us the same ride and feel. I'd be grateful for any help you guys could provide.
