Alright, I have been searching for a digital camera for some time now. I really don't want to spend the money on a DSLR plus I want something that's not so bulky. What I want is something at least 4mp and a really good zoom around the price of $500. What would you guys recommend and why?

Sony F717 Ask anyone great reviews get the feel of a dslr without the exspense. Great lense and fairly fast. Check out Dpreview.com and ask around there in the different forums ull get plenty of responses. but thats what i would go with

For wakeboarding, I would recommend the Minolta 7i, 7Hi, or A1. Here's why:

Rich , Your captures look great !

It's to bad that We have to reduce the size of our pics on WW. The quality of the pic really takes a hit.

i had a coolpix 5000. it was good but the lack of manual focus made you reliant upon keeping the rider directly in the middle of the shot.

i switched to the dimage7hi because of the manual focus, very fast response, and hi-speed continuous shots.

I took about 1500 pictures with it in 1 month.
