Need digital camera help

Melissa is looking to get a new digital camera. I know there are some fancy high dollar cameras talked about on here but she has a limited budget of around 400 bucks.

For that price it looks like about a 4 megapixel camera. What else should we look for?

We obviously want to use it to shoot wakeboarding photos and other outdoor sports.

For wakeboarding photos, the 3x zoom isn't enough (ignore the optical zoom). You are better off with a lower megapixel camera that has a better zoom. Most of the pics that I have taken this year at the pro events were shot with an Olympus C-730 Ultrazoom. It's only 3.2mp but it has a 10x optical zoom, and you should be able to pick it up for under $400. You might even be able to pick up the C-740 or C-750 if you want higher resolution.
