Tell me all about it. I know it is Friday 25th. I have to work at day, but I think I should be able to make it by 2:00. We you still be at the lake, if so are you going to have a beach or be in the wakeboard area. I know my son would love to hang out with your boys. He loves to watch them at the Canyon Lake Tournaments.

Thats what the idea is Robert, just to go hang out with those that call San Vincente their home lake. 2:00 will be fine!! As we firm up the details, I will add to this thread.

Thanks for coming down and sharing our grief! I hope to make it for at least part of the day, but am probably heading out of town later in the day. It will be great to see all of you again. Probably should get a course pass so you are assured some good water. Talk to you before then.

Very cool! Glad to her things are coming together. I was plannig on leaving town that day, but have rescheduled just so we can hang with all of you. When are you planning on getting here as as far as time? Just curious. Let me know what yor time plans are. If needed, I will hit the lake up early and get us a good beach spot. Maybe even spend the night in line and be one of the first on the lake. We should also consider a bunch of boats getting the wakeboard and slalom course passes and we can have a great time there too. Only problem is that we can not get passes for boats that are not there, so you will need to jump on that as soon as you get here. Lake opens up at sunrise. Not very crowded on Fridays, but still good to get the course just to assure some great water. Been windy lately on the rest of the lake. Probably looking at the 10A to 2P block on the course.

Can't wait guys. Getting a good group together for the meet. RTakl to you soon.

Scott won't make it to SeaForth if we block the exit at San V!

Kevin, Yup!

As far as the lake, I called Sharon at the city lakes office. She said there is no problem staying the night on Thursday, just can't be before 4P because of the construction. I will go by in the AM and check the sign to make sure, but Sharon is usually the one who has the straight scoop. I am going by in the morning and speak with the security company that watches that area where we camp. I will post up what I find out.

OK, here is the latest....

Just went up to the lake and talked with the security peeps. They said Thurs nite is OK. The sign that mentioned Friday was only for a previous time, and Friday actually looks like it was whited out or covered with tape. Anyway, I again called Sharon at the city lakes office. She confirmed with me tha Thursdays are OK to stay over. far as I am concerned, Thurs is a go. I plan on getting there maybe 5P or so.

So..who is making it Thurs nite? Just curious.

I was just trying to make it easy for everyone. I don't care what everyone does. If everyone want to go to the lake Thursday night I am good with that. if you guys want me to have a BBQ here, great. Just let me know.

Hey Robert, I think it is awesome that you offered that up, all of us were stoked at your generosity, But we are all thinking this is just the start. Believe me, we will hold you to that BBQ, (as long as I can help cook!) I am seeing a great time to be had by all, and more to come!!!

Its looking to be a pretty big turn out. The discussion is pretty big on WBSD

We are trying to organize if we're going to bbq or do something together. Sounds like we all may just meet up sometime after 4 and see what goes down?

How much does it cost to get in on a campsite?
Old     (buzz_grande)      Join Date: Mar 2004       07-24-2008, 12:03 AM Reply

Thanks for the offer on the BBQ. We will probably take you up on that another time. One at my place too once the place is a bit more presentable. Stop by Thurs night for a while. Looking forward to meeting you on Friday too.

No campsites. Basically, the area the boats line up is where we spend the night. We either stay in the boat, or in our vehicles. There is a small dirt area next to the vehicles where you can put up a small tent if you want.

Cost to get on the lake is $5/boat and $5/person. No concessions or store, so bring whatever you want to eat or drink. There is a store about 2 miles away. Hope to see ya!

Hey Kevin, we are bringing our motorhome and I have a friend that is bringing a small tent. We will be out there at one point late this afternoon, early this evening. The more the merrier! (just not too much partying, we have a big day tomorrow!)

"(just not too much partying, we have a big day tomorrow!)"

for real? I was just planning on coming out "for the party"

Are there going to be any hyperlite demos, and does Byerly have his new boat with him?
Old     (teamvaldez)      Join Date: Apr 2003       07-24-2008, 9:33 AM Reply
Hey Glen, I thought you were going to the river??
I don't think Scott has his boat and hyperlite and Byerly boards will be there.
Robert, due to this being the first event and it was already planned to head out to the gates early, we will be camping out tonight. BUT with the enthusiasm for this event showing up on my emails and cell phone, I anticipate a BBQ at your house in the near future. So just come and get in line with all of us tonight! Thanks again!

How long are you going to be at the lake on Friday??

Sorry if what I wrote made it confusing. Thanks again for the offer of the BBQ. Soon at your place or mine, but this week we will be doing the BBQ Friday on the beach spot.

Henry said you guys have a BBQ. I am assuming we need to bring whatever we want to cook, right? Just so it is clear for everyone.

See everyone tonight!

I am, I just wanted to come down and consume a few adult beverages with this motley crew. Glad to see San V riders giving it one last hoorah. I'll be on the lake next Friday to say goodbye and good riddance.

We will have the BBQ going tonight so if you want to bring whatever to throw on, it's all good. As far as tomorrow, Gary from DBG said he would bring out pizzas. Is that alot easier than hauling the BBQ out to the beach? (again, I am goin in blind here!) I defer to your wisdom in this matter!!
Old     (manja)      Join Date: Jun 2007       07-24-2008, 12:17 PM Reply
Sounds like a good time. I don't post a whole lot I'm more of a lurker.
Does anybody know if they will be demoing boards. I am interested in the byerly monarch 56 and the murray 145. I might be having an EYE problem. "Damit 'I' could be wakeboarding, how can 'I' go to work". Someone said they are taking there motorhome. Beware the road up to the lake is one narrow Steep somebitch if your going to the top.
PS if you guys get the passes is it ok to come into the area and watch? Some friends and I might head out there to check it out mid morning. Thanks Darrell

Ok, this is the deal, we are lighting the BBQ tonight. We are having burgers and dogs and whatever tonight and I am going to cook off pollo asada for tomorrow. (I can't give byerly burgers and dogs ya know) I have a reputation to uphold. We will have pollo asada for tomorrow (until we run out) so when it comes to food, water and ice? Just brang it! (ok, I will have ONE marg trip tonight are you satisfied?) Dave Williams from wakeworld is coming and we have not one but TWO writers from Alliance. This is going to be a good time!

Just wanted to throw out a huge thanks for everyone that made it out Thurs night and Friday. What a great time. It was very cool for everyone from up north to come and hang with all of us. We have a great crew down here, and have been meeting more new people everyday lately. Besides being an absolute blast, you were great hosts with all the great food, etc. Wish we all lived closer (not that you are really all that far away). We will make it up that way soon, really!

Special thanks to the Valdez family for coming up with the idea, and thanks to everyone else that made it by. Definately one of my best times at the lake in years. Let's maybe do it again once more before we get shut down. See everyone up at your lake real soon!

Buzz, you HUGELY made this event go down. Thanks so much! We had probably TOO great of a time on Thursday night. I want it noted that I did NOT play beer pong! And Buzz, don't forget next Saturday is our contest, you are more than welcome to come out on Friday night, and then ride on Saturday. Bring the family!

DBG Gary, you are a wakeboarding animal!! Get your butt out to the canyon comp on Saturday. We need to talk buisness!!

Thanks to everyone that helped put on this event. I got there a little late because of that regular job thing. Gary thanks for the lift over to the dock, i would have hung out more later but after i got a pull behind the Valdez Supra my knee decided it wasn't happy anymore and shifted/popped. As of today it's still not very happy
