I have put out the word to potential sponsors about getting involved in our annual Toys For Tots auction and we've already received product commitments from Liquid Force (board signed by Henshaw, Watson, Shane, Ben, Colling and more), J-Star, Boardstop, Cire, Shred Ready and Monster Tower. I'm hoping to hear from some of the other big companies in our industry within the next day or so!

If you know of a company that would like to get involved with this great cause, please have them contact me at gobig@wakeworld.com. Auctions will start this Thursday, 11/20 and we're hoping to raise even more money than we did last time. I know we can do it with your help!

We just added two more very cool packages to the auction. Ronix is kicking in the board that Adam Errington is riding on the cover of their 2009 catalog. It's only been used a few times and still has his sponsor stickers on it. The best part is that it has a pre-production graphic on the top, which was never available to the public!

Also, Liquid Force rider, sweet little Taylor McCullough, is throwing down a 2008 Star 124 with a Grind base. This board was made special for her by Jimmy Redmond since the Grind base is not available on this board. She's calling it the "Crash" package because she was tossed out of the pool at a rail jam and it picked up a few scratches. This package also includes Melissa bindings, a Jet Pilot non-CGA vest and a Shred Ready helmet.

I'm stoked that we've had some riders contribute to our Toys For Tots auctions!!

Lotsa sweet stuff - I placed a few opening bids - that LTD Shane 136 would match the bindings I just got from BBB very nicely!

Why is this only available to US bidders?
Old     (chrism4668)      Join Date: Sep 2007       11-24-2008, 8:08 PM Reply
I think it is because a sponsor covers the shipping but will not cover international shipping. Which is fair enough but annoying as there are a few things there i would be bidding for!

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Remember that our number one goal is to maximize the amount of money we raise for Toys For Tots. The best way to do that on an ongoing basis is to not only attract sponsors, but to keep them happy so that they sponsor this again the following year.

I'm asking the sponsors to ship most of this stuff out on their dime and they want that cost to be somewhat predictable. If I open it up to every country in the world, that predictability goes out the window. Yes, there are probably some countries that are exceptions, but I've got 40 auctions to set up and I don't have time to figure all that out.

Sorry, but it's all about streamlining the process.

Looks like you clicked on it a few minutes before the auction started. It didn't kick off until today at 10:30 AM PT and it will end on Friday at 10:30. Here is the direct link to a very cool auction where Nicola donated an autographed Hyperlite Syn 132!!

And a VERY late, but much appreciated, donation has just come in from Slingshot. They've donated a 2008 Response 134 with 2007 Driver bindings. Since it came in so late, this auction will start today and end on Monday. Here is the link...

Anyone else having problems paying for their items? I've tried on several occasions to pay, but can't get the page to load. I guess I'll just keep trying.

I had to go in and edit my information. For some reason, the system wasn't recognizing my phone number. Once I edited my information I was able able to complete the payment process.
