I'm looking at Phoenix Gold amplifiers and I see ratings like

"Into 4, 2 and 1 ohm stereo ..... 200x2"
"Into 8, 4 and 2 ohm bridged .... 400x1"

Normally with amplifiers, the output power increases inversely to the speaker impedance. (Ohms go down, output power goes up) However, PG sort-of indicates that the output power will maintain the same irregardless of ohm loading. Am I understanding this correctly? Or will these amps behave like any other amp?

I know the JL Slash amps behave this way. They have regulated power so the speakers get the same wattage regardless of load or voltage. Not sure if your PGs are setup the same but sounds like it.

you are correct...same power into varying impedence. depending on the setup, it can be a good thing (ability to run more into higher impedence (series).

Be a little careful running amplifiers with lower impedence on boat power systems. The increased load combined with reduced voltage can be volitile to an amp.
