anyone in the Central wisconsin area (54457) ever wants to ride we'll be out all summer, and spring, we have drysuits if needed. If you need/want some pulls let me know.

IM SO EXCITED!

thats crazy, do you know what the water temp was?

I drove past Lk. Geneva like 2 weeks ago and it was ice, but that prob. doesnt help much.

the wisco river is open, but i watched it for an hour and there was soooo much junk floating, its just dangerous

Hey Yankee boy!!!
You left too soon, we got tons of rain this weekend. The lake came up 8 1/2 inches just on Sunday!! The water temp is up to 80 degrees now as well.
Oh well, enjoy your slushee.

thats some bullsh*t

the parents are starting to turn against the whole moving thing... all I hear is Finish school, then move.

I'm pretty tempted to take a years worth of tuition and get some coaching insted, but i know i would be disowned.

I would kill for slush, we still have plain old ice... only a few more weeks, I hope... its been inthe 60's the last few days so that helped.

It sounds like things are good in Polk

Lake Geneva, the only time I had a decent run on that lake was when it was cold, raining and early in the morning. I guess a little ice would also help. I have become way to soft.
Old     (uppledup17)      Join Date: Sep 2005       04-08-2008, 7:30 AM Reply
I was hoping Geneva was open to get a run in before all the weekend warriors head out. Since it is still cold it was worth a shot. I would ride the Chain but the whole waterway is No wake

cant wait to get out of school and get up too the lake... they are saying that lakes up near Minocqua won't thaw out til the first week or two of May if the weather stays as bad as it has been.

I wouldn't be surprised if Okauchee is open by this weekend. Rain and wind all week should finish it off!

I hope it heats up fast one week and from then on, that'll help speed things up. I still need to switch my bidnings around my lyman. Put the damn thing together so fast due to excitment that I'm now setup to ride regular.

Edit: Next week looks like upper 50's.

Old     (dizzyg)      Join Date: May 2005       04-11-2008, 12:30 PM Reply
DRY! No point to a wet suit. I used to use one but now I go from the dry to a heatershirt once it's warm enough. Don't know how I ever could stand a wet suit to be honest.
Old     (sidekicknicholas)      Join Date: Mar 2007       04-11-2008, 1:33 PM Reply
I drysuit suit it too... its only needed for a week or two, then you can take short sets in just a vest.

i know... it sucks.... but thats everyday, so i'm not too upset

its sooo tempting but just to the right of the last picture is a monster piece of ice. I'm not ready to get in yet...all week is like 50's and 60's so pretty soon it will be warm enough.

I was in knee deep for like 30 sec getting the lift in position and was numb from even that

Nick, let me know if you manage to get out prior to the demo days. That glass is irresistible.

Holy Crap it was 49 here this morning!!!
Please keep your weather up there.

I usually get up there one week out of the summer. I'd go more but we don't own a boat that enables me to wakeboard, so when I go it's more of a family thing.

However this year the crew and I will be taking a weekend trip up there with thier BU which as long as the weather holds up and the wind stays down, should be an awsome time. By far the best lake up there IMO.

It doesn't matter how warm it is here in northern IL because our lakes are all flooded.

we made it out today on Kegonsa... couldnt have asked for better weather/water...
Water was around 60 and the air in the 70's next to no wind... just a few fishermen to contend with!

Skipped the drysuits this year! I think we all had heatershirts and one guy didnt even have that!

IT WAS BUTTER ALL WEEKEND! We rode sunday, took Saturday to get all of the piers, lifts, tracks, raft and the boat started and cleaned up. Smoothest start to the year I've ever had!

First day out of the year, and I got to ride right across the main part of Okauchee 90' deep and lovin it!

yeah its few and far between that we get butter sets on Okauchee and especially the main lake. It was a good way to kick off the season.

I'll probably be in my drysuit until the water is almost 70 maybe not that warm but at least a few more weeks. I actually don't mind wearing mine, its super comfortable and I'm not cold at all. Why be cold when you don't have to. Plus I think its better on your body if your muscles don't get all cold and tight.
Old     (dizzyg)      Join Date: May 2005       04-22-2008, 12:40 PM Reply
I'm with stan, you can trunk it all you like. I won't be the slightest bit chilly until fall :-) I used to trunk it, I've wised up and find it's a lot more fun when I'm not freezing.

Okauchee was also butter ALL DAY on Saturday, Sunday it got kind of choppy in the early afternoon when the wind kicked up.
Old     (mjmurphy53711)      Join Date: Mar 2004       04-22-2008, 12:51 PM Reply
Yea, I'll quit giving you ish when I get a drysuit and start doing the same thing, problem is by the time I need one I realize I would only use it for a week.....so I never feel like droppin the cash.

I'd be up to come ride okauchee one morning in May with you guys, before the idiot gates open.
