This maybe a really stupid question but I am going to ask anyway...

Could you do any damage to HLCD speakers (or any speaker for that matter) if you listen to them with the tower folded down?

With the tower folded down the speakers are pointed down rather than in their natural outward direction. Does this affect the magnet alignment (or anything else)?

I would think that gravity is also pulling the drivers down harder then it would normally.

Why would you listen to them with the tower down?

What kind of HLCD's do you have? I have a 04 SANTE 210 and was planning on putting some bullets or wetsounds on it, but worried about the weight when folding it down. I have to fold it to put in the garage.

Sometimes I listen to it in the garage. Various reasons...adjusting settings, going through playlists or just having a beer and sitting in the boat wishing I was on the water.

I have Bullet speakers, but I am asking the question as a generalized, any speaker, question

I can't imagine it would hurt them but was just wondering if the weight of everything hanging downward would have any negative affects on the speakers.

No you won't damage them by listening to them with the tower down. You've got a green light for garage boating.

I love garage boating....it is almost a nightly thing...unless I am on the water. Actually for me it's a driveway or barn thing. Ah those days of cleaning her and sitting there having a beer wishing I was on the water.

Thanks guys!!

Now while I am "garage boating" (learned a new cool term too) and sitting there looking at the speakers pointed at the rear seat I won't feel worried cranking the tunes out.
