So I'm gonna actually make it to watch my first Pro Stop!! Only my 2nd tourney after the one in Lake Gaston last August, and then i had to miss the Outlaw section.

I've got my plane ticket, but was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on a cheap place to stay? I'm finding ~$45 via travelocity (which really aint too bad. i may just grab it). The Holidy Inn referenced on the webpage's minimum price is like $80!! Anybody wanta split a room?

Also, is there like a giant wakeboarding scene at night (for us non-riders, i assume the big boys always have something going on)?

If you call the hotel listed and tell them you are party of the wakeboard tour you'll get a discounted rate. It's fun to stay in the host hotel because that is where most of the pros will be staying so you'll probably have a chance to hang out with them.

I am at the quality inn and it had a pretty decent rate. Not sure where the host hotel is though...

When we were in Fort Worth, we stayed at the Holiday Inn, and liked it alot. It was fun being at the host hotel, BUT make sure that the money you are being charged is just the 80.00 and if you are going to be charged a deposit. The Pro stop has a history at that hotel for damages and they had really lost their patience with unruly wakeboarders. Also, while you are there, make sure that you hit the Stockyards for one night. It has great food and something you won't want to miss. Marine creek is a great venue too!! Have fun!!

I'm a local, live and work in Ft Worth. Don't hit the stockyards.....Go to downtown Ft Worth. The area, known as Sundance Square, has a bunch of bars, book stores, movie theaters, clubs and such. Its safe, clean, and a helluva lot better than the stockyards. Its only 5 miles south of the Holiday Inn and the shuttle probably will take you there for free.

wow randy, sounds like you know your way around, but as a tourist?? We enjoyed the Stockyards thouroughly but we wern't going for the bar scene either. We had Jacob with us and he had to compete the next day so we didn't want him out clubbing to late! As a native Southern Cali person, I wouldn't recommend Disneyland either, but that seems to be the place everybody wants to go!!

Sorry, Team, didn't mean to offend. I take my kids to downtown Ft Worth as well. It's just another option in Ft Worth and while the stockyards offer one type of entertainment, the downtown area offers equally as much.

Cool. Thanks all! I think i'm going to stay at the cheapest hotel, but the just wonder over to that Holiday Inn in the afternoon if i want to hang around someone.

I mean, the stuff starts at 8:30am and i've got a 4 hour drive to Austin Sunday evening...

Hey Randy, no offense taken. Next time we are in Fort Worth, we will hit both, the stockyards AND Sundance Square. We liked marine creek as a venue, it brings back fond memories.
Gerald, have a GREAT time!!
