Vent line overflow

My problem is trailering my boat when the gas tank is full. Gas ends up coming out of the vent onto the boat. So far it hasn't done anything to the gelcoat, but it is discoloring the pinstriping.

Anyone ever use one of these on the vent line? Seems like they would work. Anyone else have any other solutions?

just ordered the LG50 to fix same problem. check malibuboatowners.com for an installation article. same item is $10 less from Overton's too.
