Is that the year with the white bindings? I know the white versions with gold accents had glue problems and a lot of people were ripping the binding apart on landings.

I had the white 06 CT, they were terrible. One of them had the bottom literally ripped out half way through the first summer. But I replaced them with the black 07 CT and have been rocking those ever since, had no problems with them since, they have held up real good.

the 08 shanes are black. ive been waring them for a little over a year and a half, and love them. the are pretty soft, but they still give support ., one of the main reasons i liked them. i can ride a 40 minute set and my feet wont hurt after. i winch in salt water and ride boat in freshwater, but after being in the salt water a few times, the outer coating started to peel off in sheets. it doesn't affect the binding it all, its just for looks. other then that i havnt had any problems. they are my favorite bindings ive worn. defiantly worth getting in my oppinion

Why not get the 09 from BBB when they come up, I have the Watsons and they seem firm,
seem less absorbing on landing than the CT I had (could be wrong-but I dont jamb my toe anymore)

i have both the 08 shane and the 09 shane ltd. both are super comfy and supportive, and both are holding up really well.

btw, the 08 ltd editions aren't so much "baby blue", but more like turquoise.

I got some of these- just moved house and can't find my camera, will take pics if I find it! I've been real careful with the join sections because you do see them tear there- but that's not just Shanes, it's pretty much all the closed toes of 07/ 08. Bascially, if you loosen the laces PROPERLY every time you take them off or put them on, you won't put your weight on the backs (which you see so many people do, then they whine that their bindings aren't stiff any more, duh!) and it's much easier to get them off in the water, they really do last- you'd be hard pushed to tell mine from new- 2 years on with pretty heavy cable usage last year. What you will get is a slight "buckling" of the material at the join point, they bulge a little even though the join is intact. Does not affect performance though, still really, really stiff, and still the most comfy bindings I've ever tried on. Get them, you won't regret it

OK, pics were more fun than unpacking

You got shots here of the joins up close, the backs (which show I don't stand on them, hence they still look & are solid), and you got two which are the bindings with the outsides next to each other- you can still see no rips where the joins are OK, but you can see the slight "bowing" of the material where the upper & lower sections join.

The plastic holders for the binding tabs are pretty useless- mine are intact (you'll see many broken), but my top 2 have almost "stretched", so the tabs drop in, but don't stay in, and they're pretty chunky, so can bounce around against your board.

But then these are nearly 2 years old, and you can't tell me they look bad!!

In fact that's the best bit- anyone who comments tells ya how much they love the colour

And yes, that's color with a "u", I live about 4,400 miles from Florida, and Anthony from Performance still did me a great deal on these!
