Ideas for something different for Rockstar wheels???

I'm looking to change up the look of my wheels. I've had the black rockstar wheels for 5 yrs now and looking to change the center cap for something different. I know I could sell or trade the wheels but I'm not really wanting to go through that much effort just yet and they are on my tow vehicle that I rarely drive anymore. I was thinking they would look OK without the star..... at least for now.

I've seen people run them without the center cap and it looks good. WHat color is your truck?

The truck is a slate grey dodge. I like the way that looks without the caps but my exposed hubs are alot uglier than that. Maybe I could some black steel dust caps??

look at some of the fuel wheels. they make a few nice ones. and they come in 12 and 14's

or have your rockstars powdercoated

you could spray paint the hubs black so they're not as noticible but I would definitely stick with balck wheels. Slate grey and colors similar look awesome with black wheels. What color is your boat? If it's red I bet the rockstars would look sick with some red accents plus it would match the boat.

paint the hubs, or I've seen people that have a black face of the spoke and the other parts are brushed metal looking, or vice versa. They look sick

The boat is Black and Grey so I think I'll stick with those colors on the truck too. Red wheels would look good with a red boat though. Thanks for all the suggestions, I think I will paint the hubs for a temp fix but there are some sweet center caps out there on a site that was linked to the fuel wheels site..... Might look for just a simple low profile solid black center cap. Something simple.

Do any of you have experience with Plastidip on wheels?

Powdercoating can cost you more than buying new wheels. Especially if they have to strip off existing finish. I like the idea of painting the star to hide it.

Not sure what kind of wheels you're buying...but Powdercoating 4 wheels matte black cost me $450 that included dismounting/mounting new tires and stripping the old wheels.

Yea I was thinking of plasti dipping the star and all the "metal" hardware black to make it more subtle. I will probably try that first before I mess with buying different center caps. I'll post a pic of what I end up doing.

My buddy just did all his factory wheels and it looks killer but I just don't know how it will stand up. I do get my truck off road for hunting and ranch work so it's needs to be fairly tough.

I've had aftermarket rims powderocated ( black) on my last truck. they chipped quite a bit from normal highway driving. I just used a factory paint touch up on the nicks. one downside to powdercoating is the potential weakening from the powdercoat process....the heat ( baking) process can affect some rims more than others.

Cool. I was quoted close to double that. Maybe my wheels needed more work.

Mine were OEM 10-spoke Rover alloy wheels I had done. No curb rash repairs were needed.

I offroad my rover and in 1.5 yrs the powdercoating hasnt chipped yet (knock on wood). But i have heard stories of issues with pc chipping.
