That thing is tight. I really think the tower is the way of the future. You could put ten or twelve board racks on that thing. Not to mention tons of lights and speakers. It just needs a good wet sand.

A closeline? That boat is worth about $1500, so i guess he is charging an extra $2000 for the custom tower.

you forgot "new alternater" and "Neon light," so does it have only one neon light?

i also like that it has only one board rack,
and its blue

this is ridiculous

Granted it is not the prettiest boat in the world...and it is fun to see peoples crazy inventions...but why make fun? It gets him out on the water wakeboarding and having fun...Isn't that why we all do this?

Ridiculous is an 18 year old brat making fun of a guys boat when he doesn't even have one himself...that to me is ridiculous.

And plus more? What the balls is he giving, a bbq to mount on the tower? Or wait, maybe its one of those deals where you show up and the boat is super clean....cough*. Good on yah brother!

Ah - you guys all dissapoint me. This guy took what he had and made it work for him. The true essence of this sport is riding the board - who cares whats pulling you? Ive seen four wheelers, pick ups, horses, jet skis, and all kinds of raggedy ass looking boats used to pull someone on a board.
I was in a similar situation once and created a makeshift pole in my Dads fishing boat. Guess I shoulda stayed on shore back then and wished I had the money you clowns have.

Old     (srock)      Join Date: Mar 2002       04-17-2008, 8:07 AM Reply
The truth is this is a an "elitist" sport. Anyone who has bummed a pull or ridden behind a john boat on plywood has admired and probably aspired to own any boat sponsoring this site or pictured in wakeboard magazine.

The price of boats, tow rigs, water front property, gas and more gas...if you want the "true essence" of the sport it can be found in surfing or skateboarding.

The real question is are you going to act like a dick or enjoy other's ingenuity and good times.

Im with you Tim. Feet on the board is where its at - snowboard, wake, skate, surf - whatever. This guy found an economical way to make it happen with wake and people on here are giving him crap for it.
You crap slingers should all be ashamed and have the word POSER tattoed on your face.

man, you guys must be the ones kidding..?

obviously that is the point of this thread, is the joke of the extremes (we) take to have fun with what we like to do. No one said anything about, well to wakeboard you need to spend 60k on a boat, not one person. Everyone is making cracks at this guys boat because we've all been there, and its fun to relate. Making a comment like the calling the sport "elitist" is ridiculous. I would like to know who died, and made you the decision maker on what wakeboarders are and are not. You make it seem like the guy that is strapped onto a peice of plywood riding behind that boat, is more "hard-core" because he didn't have money to go and buy the 60k wake-boat and a brand new $600 set up..

im getting at the fact you're calling guys out for having nice gear, and these same guys are chuckling at what other guys will do to have the same fun, yet now you turn it around on the "rich" guys because their laughing at a point in their lives they have probably experienced as well..wheres the love bra?

I guess I died when I gave up the rigged fishing boat and I resurrected with my VLX. There is a guy on my lake with a similar boat thats being made fun of here that absolutly kills it riding.
Have you ever rode a piece of plywood? Pretty hardcore in my book.

Ted Dreaver,

chill out man. we are just havin some fun, dont have to go cussin' us out cause we are making some jokes. It's like anything dude. When me and my buddies go to our Mustang cruise nights, we see some tuner kids roll up in a crx with huge wings n crap, and yeah we joke about it and stuff, but like its not like im walking up to the guy sayin "hey man, you car is a pos. Go get a life and some $$". I have an '85 Comp, so by all means, I never said i had cash or anything.

So next time you go calling out anyone on these forums, think about what you are saying. Chill out.

And if you want a tatoo, come meet me in Canada, ill be glad to give you one. Bring your skates.

Whatever works to get you out on the water. My first "wakeboard boat" was back in 1992..... a 1989 17' SeaRay with a Waylon extended pylon in it. Ghetto now but it got us time on the water & we enjoyed the hell out of it.

Hey Ted, there are pictures at Wiley's of early "wakeboards".... Darren & Paul standing on a piece of plywood, holding on to a rope handle. Probably from the mid 1970s.
Tony Klarich did his 40 tricks on 40 things on his 40th birthday a few years ago. He rode on anything & everything, a plywood disc, a ladder, a picnic table, a toilet seat, whatever he could get to float long enough to ride it.

My first boat was pink...I'm sure there were quite a few people that got a good laugh at my expense. Nothing wrong with that IMO. Funny story while in a bar on Havasu. Having a conversation with a girl and started talking about boats. She says "all of these guys with big expensive boats are trying to over compensate for something" and my response was "did I mention that my boat is a 10 year old boat that's pink...and I'm fine that"

Oh Ted you are a quick one. Almost too quick for us Canadians. Get this man a nice cold beer for that one, make sure it goes in ice.......yeah, guess that wont happen.

And as for your "makeshift pole", was that used for wakeboarding? Just if you ask me, ..well..seems a little...'fishy'. haha. Clever, correct?

I think you have enough issues in the US without taking a run at Canadians. Check out your military mess, your trillion dollar budget, Hillary Clinton drinking Canadian whiskey, your housing market and your economy. You don't want to get into a war of words with Canadians - you guys are a target rich group. I chuckle at some of the posts on this site with guys wondering if it's "safe" to deal with Canadians buying boats. Take a geography lesson folks.

Um, Its cold in Canada.
Id buy a boat from a Canadian - I love you guys! I spent some time in Kitchner / Waterloo during Halloween last year. The stripper came out on the stage on her hands - naked. Awesome. Duffy is obviously not a beer drinker
To understand Canadians you have to grasp a few things.
1) There are only eight teams in our professional football league and two of them are named Roughriders. And we think that's OK.
2) Our currency is named after a loon and we've spent most of the time figuring that $1.00 was worth $0.80. We haven't gotten around to figuring out any problems with that either.
3) Our government is so on top of things that the law requires that French be on all labelling but they never got around to requiring English on labelling.
4) Eh is not spelled with an 'A' so 'Canada' should really be spelled C Eh N Eh D Eh. We just haven't gotten around to it.
5) Hockey is a much better sport than Basketball. We did get around to that.
