Jeff, I am pretty sure you can get the 21v with out the playpen. When I started looking at the 22ssv I wanted the normal seating. However after speaking with someone highup at Skiers Choice, I went with the playpen and actually like it much better.

play pen is the bow are. The 21v has a step up to the bow and is cushioned from windshield to bow. A MC X-1 for example has a walkthru windshield and just the v-style cushioning in the bow.

The playpen can be rmvd as an option on the SSV but not on the 21v according to my local dealer

kg, you can't remove the one on my ssv. i do like however it allows you additional seating in the front and a additional next to the observer seat. also makes a nice wind block on those cool days

Insuranceman-its an option from the factory. They completely remove the stepup between the windshield. Making it a true walk thru to bow. I like the convertable playpen idea better however.

Jeff have you test drove the 21v yet ? I just test drove one 2 wks ago, along with an 06 Bu VLX. I love the Supra it is a great quality boat at a great price but it handles really heavy. It made the VLX feel like a 12ft race boat, and this is with no ballast filled. I have not driven a X30 so I cant compare the two for you

I love my playpen in my XLV! Like said before, it allows for another seat between the driver and the observer seat facing the rider! It has the flip up back for that seat as well as a flip up back for a passenger in the playpen facing forward. And also, like mentioned before, it makes for a great wind block. Now, one more huge advantage that is being missed here. It allows for a HUGE sack in the locker below!! I think you can go up to either a 1100lb or 1200lb sack in there. I have a 1000lb sack and it's huge! It made a big difference in my wake going from a 600lb. sack. Most boats come with either a 400lb or 600lb sack. This is a big plus in my opinion. Also, I think it looks better than a standard walkthru. I don't know how anyone wouldn't want it!!

To add on the Kraig's statement about the playpen. Another thing that is missed is the huge, huge, huge storage are underneath it when the sacs are not full. We travel to Lake Powell and Mead a few times a year and we stick all kinds of stuff down there instead of putting it in the car, also when you make Beverage runs and Ice runs to the Marinas, it makes a great place to keep the ICE. If you are worried about people walking on the Vinyl to get to the front, just put a towell down or get some of those seat covers that people were talking about on here. If I were to guess I would thing there is probably a $15-20K difference between the two boats!!!!! That is a lot of toys and gas and vacations you could have if you went with the SUPRA. Good Luck with your decision.

If you are truly wanting the nicest boat of the two, and the money is not an issue, I would go for the X30, but they are both nice boats. If you have a family, or you plan to take several people out, the X30 is definitely a better choice. However, the best way to decide which one you want is to test drive both and see which one fits your style best, because after all, everyone you talk to on this site will be somewhat biased.

Jeff - Check your e-mail there is some info about what Supra boats come w/o playpen and base comparisons between the two. Personally I like the playpen it gives you pop up sets in the middle facing forward & backwards, and that's one more person facing the rider. It also allows for the big ballast bag and great storage.

Jeff, As long as you are not consistently putting 10 people in your boat... I would go with the 21V. You will love the playpen... trust us on this one. Since you have a little bigger budget (thinking of spending more $$$ for the MC)... I would order the 21V with: 1) 2200# ballast system (long 600# centre locker bag on either side of the engine and the 1000# centre bag from the 24SSVGG in the locker of the 21V). 2) Wakeboard prop upgrade 3) 340HP engine 4) Chrome aluminum wheels on trailer 5) Check plate on trailer 6) Stainless swing tongue on trailer There are a few guys on here that run that ballast combo... I'm sure they will chime in... if they dont... do a 21V search and check the info first hand. Check into how many of the "big 4" that will/can put 2200# of factory ballast in their boats... only Supra does it... if you find anyone else... let us know. Here are some wake pics: This is from Chris Walkers boat... I keep using these pics.. because... they are the best I have found to date. Enjoy. KV

Jeff, We recently bought an 06 MC X30. We did check out the Supra (and every other boat out there) but we didn't like the playpen so we ruled it out. We're very happy w/ the x30. If you have any questions about the boat, I'd be happy to talk to you.
