Hello everyone,

Seeing as sound systems seem to be a common discussion point on here, and none of my searches yielded me what I'm looking for, could anyone help with an audio issue?

I'm looking at buying some Kicker K693 6x9" 3-way Co-Axial speakers (sold on wakeworld) and I was wondering about powering them. The boat has a stereo system installed (with 2 6" x 9" speakers), but I doubt it will be able to handle the extra speakers well without amplification. I am wondering what sort of amp I need to power them.

I've looked online and there seem to be a million options. I want something reasonably priced, but something that can put out enough sound from these speakers to let me hear it 75' back :-)

Thanks for any advice!

well im not gonna offer advice on the amp but hearing 6x9s @ 75' is a lofty goal. keep your car audio speakers in the boat and get pro audio for sound back to the rider. IF getting sounds to the rider is a priority save your money for pro audio, otherwise youre gonna be disappointed.

If you want to hear 6X9's at 75 you better have at least 600 RMS watts and 4 of those but I dont know how well yours will like that as they are only rated to 90 watts rms. Im in the process of replacing 4 polk momos I popped the tweeters in. No the gain was not all the way up either

hrmm... good advice... I'll perhaps skip on the speakers then, as I don't really have interest in paying too much to get riding sound, and the boat has enough internal sound already.. thanks!
