Is it normal for a 2003 LXI to use 150 of fuel in the first 6.8 hours? Who else has gone through this torturous prediciment?

No way!!!! 22 GPH????? Are you unhooking it from the trailer prior to leaving the dock? Does your bilge smell like gas?

Holy crap, my 2002 VLX has never gotten worse than about 7 GPH and averages between 6 and 6.5.

Dude, either you've been hitting the weed again, or there is a serious problem with your boat.

(Looking at your profile, I think it's the weed :-)).

Perhaps he meant Liters, not gallons, in which case he would be right on the money. My 2002 LXi uses about 6gph, with wedge and adequate weight.

you would use 22gph if you were running at WOT all the time though.

He's probably talking liters down there which would be about 40gal American. Which yes, would probably be about right.

haha, sorry, I forget about you Americans and your different units of measure. Nice profile I got going there aye? Werd of advice, if your injured, don't just sit in the boat observing and drinking all day....you'll end up with hair like mine. (BTW, i'm weed free man, just a damm wack off beer went into that photo)

So ya'll think thats right on the money aye? Our response isn't fuel injected, its got the old holley carb on it, but I hope it doesn't still use THAT much fuel when we get it run in.

If anyone's interested, we did the first 6 hours of the boats life in the RAIN on a freezing cold day. Its taken all summer to sell our old cruise craft resort 600.

how would ya'll like some pictures? I'll get some up later tomrow.

peace

carbed engines use significantly more fuel from my experience

which is real odd since the optimum fuel to air ratio is the same with carb or injector??

i've probably never used a carb that was running optimum.

Efi engines are much more fuel efficient for many reasons but one is because the fuel is atomized better through the injectors than with a carburator.
