My brother in law is camping up at Comanche res. and asked me to bring my boat up on Sunday. How is this lake for boarding ? Are the launches in good condition ? Any coves better than the others ? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

it's a whirpool, to say the least. if the wind doesn't jack up the water, the boat traffic will. it's just a big, round body of water that's not protected from wind.

I went On Sunday and was not impressed but you you don't know until you try it yourself. Probably no need to go back. I cant see that lake even being good to camp on.

That's the worst lake around.

Comanche has a nice launch facility on the north shore. I've never been to the south, so I don't know how that one is. If your serious about wakeboarding, this lake is not for you. There is no way to get away from rollers or wind chop. What I dislike most about this lake is the unmarked obstructions. The one time I was on this lake I dinged two props. You won't see me out there ever again.

Thrashed the outdrive on my father in law's boat there about 30 years ago. He loved that place because you could camp right on the lake, get up at 5 in the morning and try to get a run in before it got blown out!
