The PP on our 2005 Xstar has started to surge. It is not holding speed very well. It is about a 2-4 mph surge. Very dif to ride behind. Any one have this problem? How do you resolve this? This is the first time it started doing this. Last year we never had any issues with it. We did go to a new prop this year ( Acme 4 blade) but acme and the dealership told me tha ithis would not affect the pp.Thanks

Go to www.perfectpass.com and check the troubleshooting area. My install manual does have conditions and fixes pertaining to this type of issue. Good luck--probably a minor issue

change the prop and it will go away had the same problem this year on my MC when I went to a 14 1/4 x 14 3/4 . I put it back on the lift and put on a 14 1/4 x 14 1/2 and it went away just for drill i put the 3/4 back on and the surging came back ,the dealership is not correct . I am not saying it cant be adjusted out but for sure to much pprop will surge under a load with PP

You probably need to retune PP for the new prop is all. See the PP docs for info on changing NN and KDW.

We usually run with an extra 1000lbs.
I reset the NN to and KDW to 150, what does every one have them set at?

Mine was doing the same thing. The manual said that it could be because of debris in the paddle wheel. It was kinda weedy that day, so when we pulled out, I got under the boat. I didn't see anything, but I did spin the wheel a bunch and problem was gone.
