Hey guys,

We decided to go with a clean look on our boat so we removed all the decals from our X30 and did some paint work.

There are still some finishing touches that need to be made but I think it is growing on me. At first I didnt like it.

I would add the chrome drip molded MasterCraft stickers to the rear on each side....I bet it looks sick on the water! Very clean and unique

Yeah we have those on order. I don't know how often people will get to see the bottom line, we usually have a good amountof weight and people on the boat.

I wouldn't worry about that too much....just use the bottom line as a gauge to see if you have ENOUGH weight in the boat...if you can see the red, ADD MORE!!!

Here's a pic of the back with the stripe wrapping around the boat. We had to go with Sooner Red.

Jared, what kind of paint did you use and what kind of prep on the painted areas? Did you just have an auto painter do it? Thanks

Yes, we had our painter at the shop paint it. He has painted many boats over the years and they all have turned out great and lasted for quite a while. As far as the paint he uses, to be honest, Im not sure. Sorry. I will try to find out though.

Next is the upgrade to the stereo. Its not going to be Grant style! But a new CDM5, two additional amps for the cabin speakers and the tower, and a new sub and box replacing the factory one, hopefully with red LED's. (If my brother get off his ass, I hope he is reading this!)

That is a nice job on the paint, I agree with putting a nice clean Mastercraft logo on it to finish it off.

Looks nice! Maybe you can mess around with photo shop and see what that decal would look like - but it looks good the way it is too

Jared, how about the prep, and sanding and/or primer?
Old     (jaubrey)      Join Date: Feb 2003       05-03-2007, 6:28 AM Reply
I'm not sure on the type of primer or sander used but the entire boat was sanded and primered and the black was painted as well(its the original color).

On a seperate note, We are toying around with the idea of having a custom basic sticker made to tie in the back. Very similiar to the new simple graphics just showing X30. I don't have adobe here at work and it wouldn't matter if I did because I couldn't use it.

But here is a basic idea of it in Paint but we would want the one to be much smaller than the one i just tried to do in paint.

What do you think? Should we do something like this or keep it like it is? If anyone has any skills in photoshop and could do this better (which wouldn't be hard) then have at it. Or any other ideas are welcome. Thanks guys. Upload
