Looking for info on the new 2006 Malibu –

I was checking out the new MasterCraft X45 with a friend and he told me that Malibu has a new model called the 247. I’m told that is 24 ft 7 in long and that they modeled it after a Wakesetter or Sunscape. Has anyone heard of this or is it a rumor.

I do not know a whole lot of info about it but it is the length your posted and somewhere around 1500lbs factory ballast and it is supposed to have a hull that is very similar to the 23ft just a little bigger.

Probably another COPY from Malibu... MasterCraft has taken yet another leap foward with there new graphics. I wonder how long it will take till that idea is copied. Stick with the BEST leader MC anyone else care to follow...

Malibu larger hulls 23 and 25 LSV have been weak sellers. Especailly the 25 having to be powered only by the 8.1 litre motor. Nothing else will push it. Not a great seller or production unit at all for Bu

I've heard that the 25 Malibu is a peice of crap. I've also been told that the X-45 has issues turning with Chine lock.

If I was looking for a 24 foot boat I'd look at the Tige 24V or the 24 foot Supra SSV.

...and we all know that the really important innovations involve the graphics.

My last boat was a prostar 190 and it was good enough but I had the normal problems with it and the dealer and it’s time to move up to a larger boat.
I did not like the layout of the Tige 24V and I have no information/knowledge on the 24 foot Supra SSV. I have heard the Malibu 25 is an excellent boat for large lakes but its poor MPG or GPH has cursed the boat. The more I look the more I like the quality and price of the Malibu’s.

TNM,
There is a Malibu 25LSV wakesetter edition that is in our cove at the lake all the time. We talk to the guy a lot and he has had zero problems with his boat. The wake is absolutely huge, they run stock plus about 900 more pounds of ballast. I don't think you could go wrong with the BU.

I would go with the new 247 or the 23ft Malibu before the 25. You will get better wake performance with the 23 or 24. The 25 is needed for big water.

I saw a 2006 Wakesetter this weekend, I wasn't a big fan of this color scheme (pink, black, grey w/ grey in the tower). I took some pictures of it, inside and out, I'll post them when I get them from my girlfriends camera.

It’s my understanding that the new 2006 Malibu boats will be at the showroom by the first of August, until that time the dealers are to hold information and pic’c of the exterior & interiors of the 247.
Does this about right?
