Anyone ever just out of nowhere or after a long winter season just lose a trick you had in the bag? I used to be able to backroll like nothing and all this season I have yet to land one, they just don't feel like they used to. I've moved on from trying them as to progress in other areas and everytime I come back to them its just not there for some reason.

I switched from my lyman to a recoil. But I wasn't sticking them on the lyman before the SS arrived either.

yea. and every time if i went back to the basics and made sure to do a progressive edge all the way through the wake, i would hit it with ease. sometimes you just think too much.

It all depends on the year! I had a wrap 3 consistent, lost it but gained a backroll, lost it and the three, picked one or the other up. This year I've got both of those and am riding better than I ever have, added a ts backroll, and a couple grabs to things. I just spent half my set today forcing myself to get my hs 180 back. That's a trick I lose every year, sometimes throughout the year. I do some of the biggest 180-180's around as I'm completely around and then "Woah!" and reel it all the way back last second.

If I could count how many tricks I've lost over the years, I would be sitting here all day racking numbers. With injuries and switching from mainly boat to mainly cable over the years, it is almost sad. As my knee problems have gotten worse, I've lost a lot of kicker stuff but gained a lot of rail stuff and it is just as fun for me. Sure I still have the urge to charge a kicker like I was 20 again (and on occasion out of stupidity I still do it) but I get just as much pleasure out of a good rail hit. The rail falls can hurt but they are injuries that heal in a week vs when I hurt my knee and I limp around for a month. All of these knew cables are definitely reviving my wakeboard fever with all the different kind of stuff to hit. Every rail is different and lets you do something new.
So my point is, losing a trick is no biggy. Just find something knew to get you restoked and not thinking about it. Hell you'll probably even re-land it if you don't think about. The best way to get hurt wakeboarding is over thinking a trick.
