So I'm looking for something a bit different than the standard fuel gauge. I've only seen them for aircraft but I was hoping someone here might have knowledge of a gauge that reads how much fuel has gone through the fuel pump, in essence allowing you to know how many gallons are left in your fuel tank. I have found more complex marine gauges that give you GPH but I'm more interested in how many gallons have been consumed.

Any thoughts are appreciated. BTW this would be for my houseboat which is moored on the delta.

I think you're looking for a "Fuel Consumption gauge"

I quickly searched and found this:

there may be better, cheaper options out there, but at least you've got a start!

That's a GPH gauge which I've come across in my search. It does have a trip log function which gets at what I was looking for... Floscan also makes a similar gauge. I might be looking for something that only exists in a multifunction gauge, not that it is a bad thing. Thanks for the input.

Same as what was posted before. While they perform the function I am looking for those are more complex and expensive than I had in mind. Guess I was looking for a simple answer to a problem that has been complexly solved. Guess I will have to pick up one of those options...

I have a flowscan on my boat and it give you what you are asking for, but you have to reset it when you fill up. It works great, and its usually within 1 gallon for every 500 burned.
