My uncle's friend is looking for a new boat, he wants an 04 or newer, and he has his heart set on Tige. He won't even look at Air Natiques, Malibu's, or Mastercraft. I was just wondering how Tige compares to other wakeboats?

tell him to test drive, then test drive, then after that, go test drive some more. the man doesnt pick the boat, the boat picks the man...

true.

^^^^ I agree. The test drive is very important. I would test it twice. Once in calm waters and once in bad choppy water. That way you will get a feel for the boat in both conditions. Trying to compare between different wakeboard boats can only be done by the person who wants to buy a boat. It's kind of a personal preference thing.

To comment on Tige specifically. You will find that Tige makes a very, very good product and this coming from a Tige owner myself. The dealer will say that you don't need ballast's but that is true for beginner to intermediate riders (side note: TAPS2 and the hull is what creates the wake and the TAPS2 plate looks best on a 24 foot boat at 4. Any higher, the wake just white washes too much). When progressing up to professional levels, a ballast system is needed.

They all have their pros and cons.
I have a Tige and love it, great on rough water. Love the deep hull. Best warranty in the business. The wake is great but it needs ballast. The stock system gives you about 700 lbs and that is about all the boat needs, Ours gets way to huge if I go over 1200lbs or so.
The most important thing for your friend to do is ask about the dealership, he could even make a post on this site about the dealership.

And like the others said TEST DRIVE.

Ditto what John said. I was convinced that I would buy a Super Air Nautique or Supra 21V when I first decided to purchase my boat. Then, I looked at and drove a few boats and am now the proud owner of a Wakesetter VLX.
