Hey Art IMO it depends on how you are gonna use them. If you are just pulling up to a dock then I think they will work fine because you dont need the space a traditional fender will give you when you tie up to other boats.
Example: "IF" you tie up to another boat IMO your best friend is space or thickness of the fender. (size matters)
the further your boat is away from the other boat the less likely your boat is gonna get dammaged. The thinner fenders put your boats closer together making it easyer for them to touch.
I just got new fenders for my boat. They are just a bit thicker then my old ones. I noticed a big differance with the extra thickenss. My boat dosent come as close to the other boat when we tie up leaving more room for both boats to rock back and forth and when both boats have towers and racks a extra inc makes the differance between them hitting or not. If your just tieing up to a dock with no other boats then IMO thoes would work perfict.
