love mine, super stiff boot, easy on and off, easy lace up.

here's the deal though, i had 07's and the toe's blew out in a couple months. just got the 08's this winter from warranty, thanks ronix, and only have a few rides on them so...... but all in all they perform great. for me its all about the "stifness" lol, i said stiffness. i heat molded my 07's but didnt even bother with the 08's and honestly my 08's feel better. go figure.

Depends on your foot. You could always try them without molding them. Mine seem fine. I had to heat the hell out of my One's to get them to feel right. A hairdryer works great, BTW.

Bryan, how did you blow the toes out?? Are they open toes now?? I'm lost. lol!!

honestly you can heat mold them but ride hard in them for a couple weeks and they will feel the same regardless. i think you will like them if you want a really stiff boot, thats the main deal breaker i think with the cells.

Zach, what's wrong with the Franks?

i wish i had pics of them. ronix said it was a glue issue. the toe caps on both boots just peeled off. it was a matter of a couple days riding after it started to peel and bam open toed cells. they were stitched at the bottom and as soon as the rubber toe cap peeled the stitching just blew out in a couple sets. ronix is top notch though. no excuses no worries, just called um up shipped um back and had 08's on my door step in a week.

That's the only thing I didn't like about the cells was the ugly Battlestar Galactica style toes.

Zach, I have some Franks that have been in the box in my closet for three weeks and I just mounted them on my Bill yesterday morning. I tried them on and they are my favorite open toe bindings I have ever worn. I think they will be good for the cable because they are easy to get in and out of. Did you get the Bill?

I had the 09 Ones also and they were awesome, but I took them back to the shop because I want the 09 Cells.

oh okay...so do you think i should get the franks? 2 laces or one?
Old     (wake2wake_66)      Join Date: Nov 2008       02-05-2009, 8:40 PM Reply
2 laces, but when I am at the cable I won't worry about tightening the bottom lace too much. They are pretty stiff also. Are you wanting close toe or open?

i like closed toe, but i like how they look pretty tight on the board. The two things i dont like are the open toe and the price. i can get the cells for 120 dollars less and that seems like a better deal. And hey justin where do you ride cable?

I have some 07s in a size twelve if anyone is interested. They were a bit too big and had to get the elevens. I love mine.

I went through 2 pairs of 07's in less than 1 year. I ended up getting MASSIVE heal lift with them. I remember showing a few guys on here the issue when I rode and everyone was like "holy ****". I could get about a 1" gap between the baseplate and the board when I leaned on my toes. I have a pair of 08 one's that I am waiting to see if they make a full pull but my expectations are low. I rode 2-3 times a week from April to October.

The 09 Ronix boots have absolutely 0 as in zero heal or toe lift. The 08s are better than the 07s but the 09s are just plain solid.

But to answer your question zach, I would go for the 09 Ronix Frank boots, basically a pro model open toe. I think open toe would be better for cable so that you can wash grass and sand out easier.
