Hey y'all, got some great answers in my last thread about dialing in the wake on the VLX. We've got it throwing a nasty wake, its waist high on us with a lip that looks like a miniature version of a heavy day at Teahupoo, its a good 7" thick or more and the wake is super steep. The speedo went out, so we've been going by RPM with no trouble, but even running faster, the wake was still really steep and the lip pretty thick. We've about exhausted the weight we can put on the boat, we're already way over the recommended weight. Anyways, my question is, what can we do to get the sweet spot out, we're in the smaller '00 Waksetter, its like a 21'7" I think. I've been told that bow weight isnt good for a boat our length. We used two of the crew on the side up front (one in the bow, one of the tower), it took away some of the ramp of the wake, but the sweet spot is still fairly short. We get pretty close to the boat sometimes (I actually almost took out a buddies fisheye lens when he was snapping pics) So would a wedge help us with getting a longer sweet spot and still be able to keep a pushy, rampy wake? I'm thinking a wedge is about our only option left for trying to get the sweet spot out longer. Any ideas guys?
