For starters... I know this boat is in a different class than any competition wake boat.

My cousin just bought the 2010 model of this boat. I was curious if anyone has ridden behind it. If so, how did you weight it for wakeboarding and wakesurfing (if possible) I am assuming since there is no propeller it will surf the same on both sides. I believe it has 600lbs of ballast in 2 hard tanks.

Any info about this boat or a similar boat would be great.

Thanks!!!

The boat comes standard 1000lb bag in middle. It is ok for boarding not worth anything for surfing. The boat tears the water up to bad. To much white water.

Since it's a new boat, you probably have as much experience with it as anybody, be sure and post up any pictures and videos when you get to check it out.

According to the Sea Doo specs it has one 600lb ballast bag in the ski locker. You would probably need to add another 1000lb or so near the back to make a noticable improvement in the wake. Here is the only vid I have found so far of people boarding behind this boat:

Of course the wake is frothy in the middle from the jet wash, but the ramps actually don't look too bad.

It would definitely need more ballast for surfing, but once you have added it the boat should be good for surfing. Several people on the Yamaha forums have plenty of success surfing behind their boats, and they are pretty similar in design.
