Hi guys,

Here in montreal we have the Malibu VLX but we just bought a new yacht in Florida for the winter and we need some underwater led's and we want the best led lights on the market the one that will be the brightest and you can see it really far away.

Look at the actual picture of the tacht and i find a picture of the same model with some installed, if you have models that will be better i am open to any suggestions.

Thanks a lot

Max

Its really all going to depend on the clarity of the water. ive tried to take pictures of mine but none ever turn out good enough to see anything.
Im pretty sure those lights are the lumitec seablaze 3, and from the brief researching i did they seamed to be the best around -lighting and quality.

heres a link http://lumiteclighting.com/seablaze3.html
I have 2 of them on a 2002 Tige 20V, install was pretty simple and they perform very well. In somewhat murky water they still look really cool, pretty similar to the yacht but Id say my boat is a scaled down version of the picture you posted, in terms of light emission, hopefully that gives you a good idea.

they also make a dual color version of the seablaze 3, but i think the single white option is brighter than the 2 color option white, if that makes sense.

The underwater lights used on a motoryacht will have little in common with those used on a wakeboard boat.
You'll be looking for threaded thru-hull units rather than surface mount.
Fewer but brighter fixtures will be far more effective than a higher quantity of lesser units.
With a boat that has a beam that wide you are probably needing four very powerful lights.
Besides OceanLed, also check out DeepSee/DeepSea Power & Light under boat & docking lights.
Possibly more important than the brand will be the company/installer/technician who does the work in that community. They'll already have a preferred product and a turnkey warranty and know how to handle themselves in that class of boat.
Every boat manufacturer has an OEM source with salt water experience.

Simple question: Do you mind spending $1500 to $2500 per light.
If you don't mind. There are many options.

I've worked with many brands now but stick to OceanLED on the larger boats/Motor Yachts we work on - Very reliable, well engineered and fairly priced.

The A12 is a nice light, and workable on your boat... see:
http://www.oceanled.com/images/Custo..._GoldCoast.jpg
(fitted with 9 A12 Lights in blue)

As others have stated though, moving towards true yacht lighting which is $1000+ per light may be the way forward for you assuming you are happy to spend the money. The the effects get really cool! Have a look through this for some ideas: http://www.oceanled.com/component/ol...tegory/16.html

Thanks for all the suggestions its really appreciated, its nice to have some good ideas from neutral sources, because in shops they always try to push their products because they want to get you as a customers and since its not something you buy everyday, its not something i am really familiar with.

I will check those you suggest me and also all the ocean leds products. I will also make a look at deepsea.

Evans Thanks a lot

Ill try to catch a picture if i am able to sunk it all on the regular side and surfing it ! it would be awesome, i dont know if its something that can be done but it def worth a try !

You won't need to sink a side in order to surf. The wake will already be there.

and not to be an a3$, but if you just bought it, why is the pic from 2009?

Previous owner's picture, wrong date on the camera, etc. I'm just trying to think of some excuses since you are trying to call him a liar. Haha!

But mine is in Florida and survey is tomorow

anyway i dont have to prove anything to anybody i was just asking couple of questions some people can beleive and some cant, at the end i will be the only one knowing if i am really on it cruising down to the exuma's with a nice drink

Josh,
Get a large built-in battery charger on the towboat so you run it off the houseboat gen. Great insurance for extended outtings. Also provides a getaway of sorts.

Just imagine what they could have done if they weren't on such a tight budget.

During the installation and while the boat was on stilts or in a sling, the hull must have looked like swiss cheese.

one of the great things about these and many other Underwater Yacht style lights is the ability to repair and replace the light source while the boat is in the water.
These Threw hole style lights give you the ability to change out the light and still keep the hull water tight. Your going to pay for this option. Plus the cost of pulling the boat out and putting it on block's

If your looking at RGB lights or Just single color that makes a diff.
IMO Lumishore makes a killer controller for the RGB lights along with some very bright small Lights. http://www.lumishore.com/
