Anyone from the midwest in here? KC, STL, Springfield, Lawrence, or close like Iowa?

I'm a first time boat owner this year, wondering when you dewinterize and put your boat in the water for the season. I will be keeping mine on a lift in my dock, not in the actual water.

So, early April, mid April, late April, later than that.....???

haha thanks paul. i'm trying to figure out when that date is...i guess anytime before June is a risk in the midwest, but wondering when most people make the call and put 'er in.

is this dock/lift at your house, or somewhere farther away? if it is at your house you can put it in anytime, and just keep an eye on the weather and drain the block/heater core/etc if there is a cold snap

APril for sure....in order to do damage it has to stay freezing for a couple of days...one cold night won't destroy it. I was hoping to be in the water late march(maybe not for a pull, but I like to make sure I get it out before the season hits just to make sure everything is working properly for the first ride, but F"n 7 inches of snow today might delay that.

DOH!

Saturday, April 19th is the official "Put Your Boat Back in the Water Day" in Theodosia, MO, on Bull Shoals Lake.
Come on down, it'll be a great day. Not structured at all, bring food, drinks, whatever, and we'll all meet up in a cove somewhere.

Mine was in the water mid April last year....I can tell you that the average low here in Springfield is finally at 33 and it keeps going up and up...:-)

Hopefully we're on the up-swing in the weather department. Now, as long as all the crap in the water sinks or goes ashore, we'll be fine. The lake rose 17' over the last couple of days.
5' on Tuesday, then they let another 12' in from Table Rock yesterday. At least we had warning this time, and were able to get the dock moved before it was stranded in the middle of our cove!

Mid april will be fine. That first week of April can be be iffy though. Last year we were in at the end of March, and then the boat had to be rewinterized the first week of April. We were out riding again the next week though. The weekend of April 12 is my target date for getting the boat in this year.

In order to do any damage it has to be below freezing for longer than 12hrs.... I would buy a heat lamp just in case

We're gonna put the boat in for the first time this year once it hits 60 degrees.

We had a early spring last year and I was in the water the first weekend in April here in So.MN. This year we still have ice on! The boat is ready for action, just waiting on Mother Nature.
