XStar w/ L18....helm chatter????

i am considering buying an XStar with the big block L18. I had heard that i should get the hydraulic steering to prevent helm chatter. Now i hear that it isn't necessary. Does anyone have any experience with an XStar with L18? DO you have vibration in the steering wheel? DO you have hydraulic steering to prevent it? Is Hydraulic steering necessary? Thanks in advance.

Our L18 had no chatter at all, The boat was insane. it would pull a house up on plane if you needed to. The GPH was great too.
